Now, our sights are set on a broader European presence, with plans to extend surety offerings through each of our European offices.

In pursuit of this ambition, we seek local Assistant Surety Underwriters to fortify our Surety Business division.

Role overview We seek a motivated and enthusiastic individual for the French surety market.

This opportunity is ideal for those seeking to advance their surety career with excellent interpersonal skills and meticulous attention to detail.

As an assistant underwriter, you will assist underwriters by performing data entry; helping with risk assessments; modifying policies; and more.

You will collaborate closely with our team of surety specialists across Europe, including involvement in claims handling, marketing, and operations.

Hence, adept prioritization and multitasking skills are essential.

Role responsibilities
- Work closely with the underwriting team to ensure that account management expectations are met.


- Accurate and timely preparation of surety documents
- Maintain carrier bordereau.


- Review active files regularly to ensure all essential underwriting and security information is current and updated.


- Setup up new client files in underwriting system
- Record bonds/policies and endorsements in surety system.


- Ensure all correspondence and underwriting information is properly filed.


- Process contract status reports monthly.


- Follow-up with brokers for outstanding bonds and underwriting information
- Prepare case follow up and reporting as requested.


- Manage administrative processes, including bond application advisory and approval, bond wording review, invoicing, and final issuance of surety bonds.


- System data entries in a timely manner.

Key requirements
- University degree in Law, Economics, Accounting, or Business Administration
- Minimum of 1 years' experience in relevant roles in risk analyses and underwriting in a banking or surety environment.


- Dynamic personality with strong interpersonal and communication skills, team spirit, and persuasiveness.


- Proactive, autonomous, and eager learner with vision, sense of urgency, and proficient in risk decision-making.


- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, French, and preferably other European languages.

On a typical day With a steaming cup of coffee in hand, the day kicks off with reviewing bond applications and assisting in evaluating financial statements.

You are fascinated by the unique puzzle that each application presents.

Throughout the day, you communicate with clients and colleagues, gathering additional information and assisting senior surety underwriters on complex, thrilling cases.

Before you have lunch with Boris, you take the chance to share the success on a bond you issued for a prominent project that made the news yesterday.

After lunch you draft documentation and monitor some projects, satisfied with finalising all bond applications for the day.

Research and training unveil industry trends, constantly feeding your expertise and professional growth.

While wrapping up for the day you look back on a day of a lot of attention to detail, critical thinking, and effective communication ensuring outstanding service.

Tomorrow is Friday, and you are looking forward the well-deserved gathering with the colleagues for some drinks to celebrate a fruitful week at Dual Paris.
