JOB PURPOSE The Credit Controller for France will be responsible for managing credit control processes, ensuring the company's financial risk is minimized while maintaining positive customer relationships.

This role involves assessing credit applications, managing outstanding debts, and optimizing credit policies to enhance cash flow and reduce debtor days.

The position requires proactive coordination with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the smooth operation of credit management functions.

YOUR JOB Your responsibilities will be as follows :

Credit Management & Risk Assessment Review credit applications and references, engaging with prospective debtors to assess creditworthiness and establish credit limits.

Act as the first escalation point for credit applications and references submitted by Local Credit Controllers.

Monitor and report on aged debtors, ensuring timely follow-ups.

Debt Recovery & Financial Coordination Regularly liaise with third-party debt collection agencies and credit insurance companies to negotiate terms.

Manage write-offs, bad debt provisions, and establish payment plans where necessary.

Prepare statements of claims for liquidators.

Assist the broader accounts and sales teams with credit-related matters.

Process Improvement & Compliance Continuously review and improve processes to minimize debtor days.

Act as the system and contract owner for third-party business information providers.

Ensure accurate recording and reporting of credit limits within the ERP system (IFS).

Optimize the use of Group Factoring facilities by adding debtors to the program, applying for credit limit increases, and coordinating with Local Credit Controllers.

Act as a liaison between the Treasury department and Group factoring companies.

Cash Flow & Account Management Chase outstanding debts via phone, email, and letter to maximize cash receipts and minimize debtor days.

Communicate with customers regarding payment collections and ensure timely input of remittances into the system.

Maintain and reconcile debtor schedules, ensuring accuracy in regional reporting.

Process factoring files to optimize cash inflows.

Manage inter-company invoices, reconciling and reporting balances with fellow Group companies.

Perform any additional duties relevant to the role to ensure comprehensive and flexible service delivery.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS Experience & Knowledge Minimum of 2 years of experience in Accounting and Credit Control.

Proven experience handling end-to-end credit control and accounts receivable processes.

Strong working knowledge of credit law.

Previous experience in staff management.

Skills & Competencies Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both French and English, particularly in customer negotiations.

Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Strong multitasking skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
