We are seeking a Freelance Senior Telecoms Engineer to join a company we're supporting.
In this role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of advanced telecommunication systems.
Your expertise will be critical in ensuring the efficiency and reliability of the communication infrastructure, which is essential for operations.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain telecommunication systems architecture and block diagrams.
Write detailed telecommunication specifications.
Monitor material take-off for telecommunications, including cables and power distribution.
Interface with existing telecommunication systems to ensure seamless integration.
Prepare telecommunication layouts for systems such as CCTV and PAGA.
Conduct technical comparisons and review plans and documents from vendors.
Correspond with sellers to discuss specifications and requirements.
Assist in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) to validate equipment performance.
Review and provide technical evaluations of supplier offers.
Participate in validation activities for the installation of telecommunication systems, ensuring alignment with design and functional requirements.
Requirements:
Telecommunication Systems Expertise:
Proficient in PAGA, CCTV, Telephone Systems, UHF TETRA Radio Systems, VHF Marine Radio Systems, Fiber Optic Networks, LAN Systems, ACS, Wireless Systems, and Intrusion Detection Systems.
Oil & Gas Sector Knowledge:
Extensive experience with telecommunications systems specific to the Oil & Gas industry, particularly onshore LNG.
Installation and Validation:
Strong understanding of installation and validation aspects of telecommunications systems.
Standards Compliance:
Mastery of applicable international standards and codes, such as ISA, IEC, and ATEX.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Vision) and AutoCAD for documentation and layout preparation.
Communication and Reporting:
Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams.
Ability to report to the lead engineer or project manager.
