A division of Harris; Systems & Software is seeking a SeniorSystemsAdministrator/Engineer to join our team.This is a hands-on role where you will learn and gain experience both by doing and via training/certification opportunities.
Success is measured by the operational improvements you contribute to both your team and the organization.This remote role welcomes candidates anywhere in Canada and the US.
This role requires travel up to 5% within North America.

Architecting customer cloud environmentsProject management, coordination, and customer meetings for TechOps responsibilities of upgrades and migrations, both on-prem and cloudApplying out of the box thinking to address customer technical needsCloud and on-premises system provisioning, network setup and maintenanceWorking with development team to resolve application related issuesMonitoring internal and customer system healthTier 2/3 technical support for internal and external customers (after hours support rotation required)Diagnosing and resolving operating system issues (performance problems, configuration issues, etc.)Administration of Linux and Windows serversAdministration of Site-to-Site VPN tunnels, on-premise networking and cloud networking configurationLeading and mentoring more junior team membersCreating and maintaining technical documentationImplementing continuous improvement through automationStreamlining processesStrategic improvement projectsEducating usersWhat we are looking for:
A bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science, information science, information systems, or related field OR equivalent work experience in a systems admin roleAt least 5 years of experience/familiarity with Linux (Oracle, RHEL, CentOS) and Windows Server OS5 years’ experience/familiarity with the following infrastructure:
Virtualization/Containers, IaaS Cloud (Oracle, AWS, Azure, etc), VMware (vSphere / ESXi) and Docker5 years’ Experience with Cloud Hosting/Architecture (Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure, etc.)Experience/familiarity with Dell Servers, Compellent/EqualLogic SANs, and Fortinet Fortigate firewall/vpn, switches3 years’ experience working and managing tasks on complex technical projects with a customer focusAbility to travel up to 5% within North AmericaWhat would make you stand out:
Relevant certifications are desirable, e.g., Red Hat Certified EngineerExperience with Automation:
