* This role has an operational reporting line to the Director of Community Programs and Allied Health (CQMHAODS).
* This role will work directly with provision of clinical expertise in patient care within the Manager Mental Health Acute Services clinical area.
* This role has financial (band 15) and human resource (band 7) delegations.
* Provides clinical and specialist area governance of mental health community based acute care practice across the Hospital and Health Service (HHS) in conjunction with the Clinical Director, Specialist Medical Officer and other Team/Nurse Managers.*Total Package*

* Provide managerial leadership and direction to the multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of high-quality recovery focused care and to foster a culture of evidence-based practice, continuous quality improvement and effective risk management.

This may include short-term or temporary projects aimed at enhancing services for consumers presenting in crisis and enhance patient flow.
* To provide leadership and direction to the team and service, embedding productive working relationships within the team, the program and across all other CQMHAODS.
* Ensure that staff are appropriately skilled and supported to deliver services by actively identifying, facilitating and providing professional development opportunities for self and others, and managing regular supervision and performance appraisal processes for staff.
* Accountable for the administration, direction and control of human, financial and material resources including staff recruitment, performance appraisals, rostering and allocation of budget and resources and service reporting requirements (e.G.

Key Performance Indicators).
* Utilise contemporary human resource management practices and ensure compliance with relevant standards and policies including but not limited to consumer complaints management, integrated risk management, recruitment and selection, workplace health and safety, equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination requirements.
* Provide managerial leadership in the development, implementation and monitoring of programs, policies and service improvement initiatives across an integrated multidisciplinary service to support the continuum of care and ensure the provision of quality clinical services to consumers and relevant stakeholders in line with Service, HHS and State Plans.
* Foster a culture of integration of Mental Health and AODS with key stakeholders including other CQMHAODS teams, Rockhampton Hospital wards, emergency departments across CQ, emergency services and other external partners/stakeholders.

This will include facilitation of interdepartmental meetings and working groups.
* Utilise high-level interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written, to consult and work effectively within multidisciplinary team as well as with a broad range of health care professionals, teams and agencies both internal and external in the health system in order to deliver improved health outcomes for consumers, carers and families.
* Provide consultation and support to team members utilising advanced level independent professional judgement to adapt standard clinical practices to non-routine clinical matters, based on theories of understanding and intervention within the Model of Service.
* Apply high level knowledge of legislation and policy (including _Mental Health Act_and the National Health Standards) to ensure the delivery of coordinated and integrated Mental Health and AODS.
* Provide high level advice to professional and operational supervisors, senior management, relevant program managers and stakeholders regarding service needs and initiatives to improve service for consumers.
* Utilise high level negotiation and conflict management skills to advocate with stakeholders to develop, implement and ensure the delivery of a comprehensive range of clinical and non clinical services in line with National and State Policies and Standards.*Mandatory Qualifications / Professional Registration / Other Requirements*
* *Occupational Therapy:


* The successful applicant must hold a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification from an accredited tertiary institution in Occupational Therapy.

Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency with a current annual practicing certificate is mandatory.
* *Psychology:

*The successful applicant must possess a four-year degree in Psychology (Honours, Graduate Diploma) from an accredited tertiary institution.

Full Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency with a current annual practicing certificate.
* *Social Work:

*The successful applicant must hold at least a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification from an accredited tertiary institution in Social Work as well as eligibility for full membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).

While not mandatory, status as an AASW accredited Mental Health Social Worker is highly regarded.
* *Non-mandatory qualifications/requirements:

*While not mandatory, possession of relevant clinical post-registration and/or tertiary qualifications in relevant profession or Mental Health or Alcohol and Other Drugs would be well regarded for this position.
* Eligibility for appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner under the _Mental Health Act 2016 _would be highly desirable.

*Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and if applicable registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association.
