Our client in Mississauga is looking for a DedicatedDriverServices(DDS) – Supervisor.
This role is vital in ensuring daily functions are completed while complying with our policies, procedures, and best practices.
This role focuses on working and coordinating with drivers working on dedicated accounts and ensuring their freight is getting serviced on time.
The position reports to the PM Operations Manager.
It interacts with drivers, managers, supervisors, the safety team, customer service, the client, and industry professionals.

00am, Benefits after 3 months, RRSP contribution after 3 months, great growth opportunities and ample of free parking.*Responsibilities* * Planning staffing (and backups) on various DDS account runs (including AM and PM runs).
Preparing and sharing weekly staffing (training) schedules with all concerned parties, including drivers. * Coordinating with drivers on work-related instructions, keeping a tab on their well-being, and following up with them on any issues they face. * Preparing and maintaining various reports aimed at keeping management and multiple departments, such as payroll, informed about DDS operations. * Reports include Time Tracker Report; Staffing Tool; Mileage/Expense Report; DDS equipment record keeping; Driver Shunt Report; Alarm Code Sheets; etc. * Coordinatingwith management and providing them with daily updates on windshield deliveries by sharing pictures. * Updating various Management and Customers on exceptions daily.
Exceptions include:
* Issues at customer location while delivering freight. * Problems with return freight. * Issues related to customer facilities (such as non-functional alarm codes, locks, etc.) * Coordinating with the Talent Acquisition team for hiring needs and assisting them in recruitment. * Providing run-specific information to the Talent Acquisition Team and Interviewing potential candidates. * Providing lumper requirement information to Talent Acquisition Team. * Preparing training plans for new hires and monitoring their progress on a daily/weekly basis. * Reviewing coaching sheets of new hires daily. * Planning and organizing forklift courses as per customer requirements. * Planning motel reservations for swing drivers getting trained on Kingston runs. * Coordinating with the payroll department to ensure correct and seamless payment to drivers. * Follow-up with payroll over driver payment discrepancies; advising payroll about exceptional. * scenarios such as wait time, overtime hours, shunting payment; etc. * Reconciling motel reservations on an annual basis. * Procuring and providing necessary safety equipment as per customer-specific requirements to drivers. * Coordinating with the garage (maintenance) for keeping DDS equipment (trucks/trailers) up-to-date and ready to use. * Coordinating with the safety department regarding drivers’ injuries at work and completing all the necessary documents. * Regular follow-up with customers for any new requirement/feedback. * Coordination with rental truck companies for procuring trucks for dispatch, DDS, and highway. * Operations.
Maintaining a log of rental trucks.*Qualifications* * Two years of dispatching (or supervisory) experience within a transportation environment. * Must have completed post secondary education in transportation. * Exceptional judgment must be able to make independent decisions. * Extraordinary teamwork and team-building skills. * Strong work ethic and positive team attitude. * Possess excellent written and oral communication skills. * Flexible and adaptable, able to multi-task under pressure. * Experience in a 24/7 operation, preferably in the transportation industry.Skilled communicator with strong interpersonal skills at all levels in the company. * Identifies and resolves problems proactively and promptly. * Look for ways to improve and promote performance proactively. * Knowledgeable in the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). * Ability to analyze and interpret clients’ needs and offer the appropriate options, solutions, and resolutions required. * A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people. * Management skills. * Proven ability to meet deadlines. * Be committed to providing outstanding internal and external customer service.Job Types:
