Director of Finance (base salary of $180,000 to $230,000 ++) Treat & Associates,ExecutiveRecruitment is a boutique recruitment firm that has a mandate to seek out an experienced, detail oriented, articulate CA for a privately owned Canadian Corporation. Our client is responsible for over 50 companies within Canada, the US and other strategic locations globally. This company is run by a close-knit team of executives who have decades of experience working together and have continued to grow this 50+ year old family business. The successful candidate will have a solid foundation gained from working at a national or regional public accounting firm, with exposure to private company accounting and audit. Related industry experience as a Director of Finance, Controller, or CFO of an owner managed Canadian Corporation is also welcome.
Pride of work, superb communication skills, attention to detail, and strong accounting and finance skills are essential. Duties include:
Reviewing the preparation of financial statements and working papers, maintenance of accounting records, supervising four accounting staff, and organizing and managing audits and review engagements performed by external accountants. Organizing and managing the preparation and filing of Canadian and US Tax returns, and addressing any tax compliance issues as they arise. Coordinating tax audits and related valuations.
Liaising with external venture partners to ensure timely reporting and address issues that arise. Reporting to principal lenders and investors including presentation of reports and cash flow forecasts. In addition, you will be responsible for managing key banking relationships, liaising with the management team and international colleagues to ensure timely reporting, and resolving issues that arise. Liaising with and monitoring work from external property managers in Canada and the US. Working closely with IT to ensure any issues are resolved and will become familiar with accounting records and systems within Sage Intacct and Sharepoint. Working with treasurer you will oversee cash management and monitor cash sources and uses.
