AlbertaHealthServices (AHS) is currently seeking a passionate leader to guide the South Zone’s Social Work team to deliver services across the zone.
This team is a key part of health service delivery supporting people in accessing programs, funding, and the supports they need to live healthier, more enjoyable lives.
The ideal candidate understands both the mental and emotional demands of Social Work.
They have experience in project or program management and are looking to grow their career while providing direction, leadership and evaluation of the Social Work services that encompass our regional and rural health centers in the South Zone.
You will be accountable for key decisions while ensuring efficient and effective patient and client-focused delivery of services.
You will use skills in business planning, budget management, and communication to work collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders to foster program excellence.
The role’s location is negotiable within AHS’s South Zone.
While small, the zone is geographically diverse, with bustling urban centers, charming small towns, and vibrant, diverse landscapes across mountains, deserts, badlands, and forested valleys.

As the AlliedHealthManager, Social Work, you will provide direct support and expert counsel to the practical experience in strategy, policy development, leadership, and project/program management, you will demonstrate knowledge and application of business planning, fiscal management, modeling concepts, and program/project management theory, principles, and practices.
With a proven ability to think strategically, strong communication skills, a client-focused orientation, and a commitment to providing quality clinical services, you will ensure accountability measures are collected to evaluate the outcomes of Social Work programs and services while managing change and creating innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues.
You will develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders to provide leadership to the Social Work program including South Zone AlliedHealth Leadership team, the South Zone Leadership Team, the AHS Leadership Team, partner organizations, provincial AlliedHealth Professional Practice and Education (AHPPE) team, and other key stakeholders.
