Fleet Lifecycle Develop the fleet vehicle acquisition, lifecycle management, maintenance and remarketing plan that supports organizational growth and resiliency.
Researching equipment availability, effectiveness and suitability.
Preparing purchase and lease specification documents and evaluates vendor submissions.
Developing and managing service level agreements with vendors to ensure service levels are identified and met, problems are addressed and client satisfaction is maintained.
Review of equipment specifications with manufacturers and implementation of new technologies to improve efficiency, productivity and safety of the fleet; Fuel Program Effectively and efficiently, manage the fuel program network wide.
Implementation of the fleet energy transition strategy.
Researches equipment availability, alternative fuel options, effectiveness and suitability.
Managing the fleet fuel storage and distribution systems inclusive of conventional and alternative fuels Fleet Maintenance Managing fleet operations to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery of maintenance and repair programs for all company owned or operated vehicles and equipment.
Ensures maintenance of Company vehicles in accordance with established standards and policies Developing and directing activities to ensure timely repairs, quality of repair, effective preventative maintenance, legislative compliance and superior customer service.
Managing staff and contractors in the maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment, including workforce planning, hiring, coaching, discipline and performance management.
Safety and Regulatory Compliance Ensure safe operation of fleet assets to protect employees and public though management and development of Fleet Safety Programs and driver training initiatives.
Ensure compliance of all equipment, services and vendors with the various government authorities in Canada and internal standards.
Collect and maintain accurate and up-to-date safety and compliance documentation Keep informed of new and changing industry regulations and propose changes to remain compliant Fleet Optimization and Growth Identify and develop systems / processes to optimize fleet operations and adjust to new or changing business conditions.
Developing and implementing Fleet policies and procedures, measures and performance indicators as needed for both management and operational oversight and control.
Oversee programs that provide comprehensive training and instructions in all areas of transportation, including but not limited to; shunt truck driving, loading and unloading, safety guidelines, yard operation, computer and technology handling and ELD communication NationalFleetManager, Knowledge and Skills:
Education Required:
Postsecondary diploma or degree in supply chain management, operations, logistics, business administration, or transportation 2+ years as a people manager 5+ years in the Transportation Industry Excellent strategic/critical thinking and communication/presentation skills Knowledge of industry regulations (hours of service, HTA, CFIA.
HAACP) Ability to process, workflows, policies, and projects as assigned Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel and Power Point experience Proven experience with Geo Tab or other related applications Strong comprehension of various transportation methods and modes Ability to solve problems and alleviate conflicts or escalate tactfully Strong interest in alternative energy technologies (EV, natural gas, hydrogen) GiantTiger JohnstownOntario
