Job Summary:
The ProgramDirector is responsible for the oversight of several Specialized Resource Homes.
Providing support, coaching, training, and supervision to Program Managers in Kelowna, Vernon, and Terrace.
In addition, the ProgramDirector is responsible for implementing the strategic plan and long-term vision into their portfolio.
The ProgramDirectors remain abreast of the latest research and best practices in their areas of expertise, trauma-informed practice, and person-centered planning.
Implementing and teaching Program Managers to incorporate innovative and new best practices support those we support.
As a key member of the leadership team, the ProgramDirector assesses and mitigates risk to reduce critical incidents with both staff and to the people we serve.
In addition, ensuring compliance with CARF standards, funder and company policies & procedures, and licensing standards.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in the Human Services Field Three (3) years of recent experience in a leadership role Experience with CLBC, MCFD, and/or Interior Health Programs Experience working in a unionized environment Unrestricted Class 5 Drivers License Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience Travel Required between Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge and experience working with youth and/or adults with complex needs Excellent communication skills, networking, funder, and community partnerships Demonstrated ability to support others to work effectively with complex needs and behaviors Demonstrate ability to communicate clearly and with sensitivity in both oral and written Extensive experience in coaching, mentoring, and managing employees and teams Ability to coach, mentor & develop high-performing teams Strong organization, planning, and time management with follow-through Proven track record of critical thinking, good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making Demonstrated ability to assess, manage & mitigate risk Key Duties:
Develops a positive relationship with program managers, staff, youth and/or adults, and other stakeholders Plans, implements, maintains, and evaluates programs in keeping with organizational objectives and strategic direction Reviews and provides guidance and feedback to manager about individualized guidelines of care and program activities Participates in and responds to MCFD/CLBC protocols, and investigations and follows up with the recommendations Works collaboratively with Care Team to develop and approve restrictive practices and safety plans.
Provides coaching, training, monitoring, and support to Program Managers with the implementation of the plan, ensuring all restrictive practice policies and/or directions are adhered to Oversees and monitors with random audits all aspects of medication delivery, storage, and disposal.
Tracks and analyses medication errors and makes recommendations for change.
Oversees and monitors all documentation requirements and provides coaching and guidance to program managers Reviews, analyzes, and makes recommendations in a quarterly report on all program Critical Incidents.
Manages leadership employee's and program manager's performance through coaching, mentoring, and engaging in progressive discipline when required.
Takes a collaborative approach in managing areas of discipline and termination of leadership employees.
Supports, coaches, and mentors program managers in areas of performance, hiring, orientation, and staff engagement.
Ensures program managers follow the Collective Agreement, Local Issues, and ActiveCares Policies and Procedures Participates in emergency backup for after-hours on a rotating basis Participates and coordinators the screening and intake of new youth – either planned or emergency.
Conducts random Health & Safety audits on houses and vehicles to ensure ActiveCare assets are in good standing and meeting all ActiveCare quality standards.
Models and supports self-care and is aware of the needs of their staff team Participates in developing long-range strategic plans, assesses and resolves operational issues, and contributes to the development of organization policy and best practices Participates in community networking events, committees, and working groups.
Strives to enhance the name and brand of ActiveCare when participating in external events.
Participates in developing new best practices, new initiatives, and innovative programs to enhance the lives of ActiveCares supported person(s) All other duties as directed and required Work Location:
