We're looking for a mission-driven Philanthropy Officer, Campaigns who is passionate about creating more accessible, inclusive, and equitable communities across Canada where people with low vision have unlimited opportunities and can experience life free from barriers and discrimination.

Your Impact at CNIB Cultivate and steward relationships with a portfolio of donors to secure major gifts (primarily with a focus on $5,000-$99,999 gifts).

Oversee a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors:

identifying those with an interest in CNIB’s work, engaging with them, soliciting, and closing major gifts, and nurturing donor relationships to uncover opportunities for growth.

Develop and implement individualized fundraising strategies for each donor in the portfolio, with a focus on soliciting major gifts.

Create and execute fundraising plans, proposals, and campaigns tailored to CNIB Guide Dogs, CNIB Kids, CNIB Sports & Recreation, and other priority areas.

Drive and implement moves management for portfolio, documenting all contacts and next steps in CRM (Salesforce).

Build appropriate strategies and create the tools needed to initiate and cultivate these relationships, including crafting opportunities for restricted and multi-year giving.

Attend events, meetings, and conferences to engage with donors and raise awareness of CNIB's work.

Maintain accurate donor records, track progress, and provide regular updates to the Director, Campaigns.

Work with Gift Management Team to ensure major gift pledges, renewals and other gift transactions are processed effectively and efficiently.

Coordinate communications for donors including follow ups, updates and ensuring timely recognition of gifts.

Requirements Who you are:

Education and Certifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in fundraising, non-profit management, or a related field.

Driver's license is an asset, but not required.

Experience and Qualifications Relevant fundraising experience at the $5K-$100K gift levels.

Relevant experience in major gift fundraising, including successful solicitation of substantial donations.

Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with major gift donors and prospects.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation and reporting skills.

Executes ideas and meets deadlines with excellent organizational & project management abilities, attention to detail and follow-through.

Knowledge of fundraising software and databases, including Salesforce.

Commitment to the mission and values of CNIB.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Adheres to applicable privacy laws as well as AFP, CAGP and CNIB standards of discretion and confidentiality.

Exceptional organizational and administrative skills with a focus on efficiency.

Proficiency in French an asset, but not required.

Willingness to work flexible hours.

Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and sight loss is considered an asset.

Personal or professional experience working with assistive technology and/or accessible environments is considered an asset.
