The Opportunity The ProductManager role is responsible for leading cross-functional teams to create, enhance and oversee client centric solutions for products and services at TechnicalSafety BC.
ProductManagers are assigned discrete product and service lines and client segments.
Reporting to the Director, Product & Market Insight, ProductManagers must possess business savvy, big picture vision and the drive and tenacity to make that vision a reality.
ProductManagers must revel in seeking to understand clients’ needs and challenges, the company’s safety imperatives and be committed to finding meaningful solutions that deliver on both.
ProductManagers must be clear communicators, credible product ambassadors inside TechnicalSafety BC and beyond, and empathetic solution finders.2023 was an exciting year for TechnicalSafety BC with the Ursa Certification launch in March, the first phase of our digital transformation.
The launch delivered many experience improvements for clients and frontline team members, including a 77% reduction in client application processing timelines.
To drive continuous improvement while advancing the certification experience internally and externally, we are excited to announce the formation of a new Agile squad.
The squad will focus on certification, allowing the business transformation team to continue progress on future product launches instead of devoting resources to past launches.Status:

Director, Product & Market Leadership Within their assigned product/service lines and client segments, the ProductManager will:
Develops and communicates the product vision, long-term product strategy and roadmap to showcase value delivery in alignment to organizational objectives.
Adapts the roadmap to changing needs of clients and the business.
Works with a team of product owners to continually explore the clients’ needs and pain points, analyze business processes, and drive feature delivery.Utilize client, industry, market and internal research and analysis to identify client needs – safety needs, business needs, and market opportunities.
Build product ideas and advocate for product design that improves safety outcomes and client experience sustainably.
Collaborates with product owners to translate the product strategy into actionable tasks across the portfolio to build products and works with cross functional agile teams to execute those requirements.Works with other product leaders to manage TechnicalSafety BC’s overall product roadmap.Promotes upcoming changes with stakeholder groups to ensure they are fully aware and prepared for launch.
Helps client experience support teams manage the product and create features to improve support functions.Collect and manage client data to build an understanding of the client organization and the people responsible for technical systems safety.
Develop, monitor and report on performance metrics appropriate to the product line, including at a minimum:
cost, revenue, contribution margin, client satisfaction, churn, and market penetration.
Contribute to the development of a TechnicalSafety BC -wide product strategy, product and processes, and build capacity and fluency with product development approaches across TechnicalSafety BC.Represent and promote TechnicalSafety BC publicly, cultivate relationships with stakeholders, peers and clients and respond to emerging trends and future requirements.Contribute to TechnicalSafety BC Corporate Initiatives.Procure and manage vendors, prepare client proposals and contracts, negotiate and close deals as required.Some travel required (up to 25%) to meet clients and employees around the province.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience you have:
7+ years’ experience in product managementDegree in business, marketing, communications or related field (Masters preferred), or equivalent work experience with progressive responsibilityVersatile business professional with product development/management expertiseProduct development from ideation to operationalization/continuous improvement, formal project managementValidating market demand/interestPricing strategy, budget development & financial responsibility at product/service/project levelResearch and analytical skillsHuman centered design/design thinking and AGILE methodologyUnderstand how strategy drives tactics, and how tactics realize strategyExperience working with MS Dynamics is preferredExcellent written and oral communicator –proven ability to empathize, engage, present to and persuade people from all walks of lifeEffective in the face of uncertainty/ambiguity, lateral-thinker, willing to take calculated risksTenacious, determined and has grit to persevereSense of humour Beyond the role:
