Our group uses induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and iPSC-derived neurons to study the molecular basis of neurological diseases.
We develop new tools and assays that will be integrated with preclinical drug screens to identify potential therapies for disorders like Parkinson’s and ALS.
We work to bring our assays with iPSC-derived cells into screenable 2D and 3D formats.
Duties and responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Research Supervisor and under the technical guidance of the ResearchAssistant 2, the candidate will participate in research projects to study the molecular basis of neurological diseases using established protocols, processes and procedures developed at the EDDU. Preparation of research documentation, and completes literature reviews as needed. Prepare materials for submission to granting agencies and prepare findings for publication. Assist in laboratory analysis, quality control, or data management. Based on results, independently suggests and tests modifications to protocols. Communicates results and collaborates with other professionals in the lab Provides technical guidance and training to research staff, including Undergraduate/Graduate Student ResearchAssistants and Technicians, in the execution of karyotyping and chromosome analysis related to research projects and activities. Contribute to maintaining a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment. This position is covered by the AMURE collective agreement Hourly Salary:
