Position Summary - Opportunity Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, the FieldAdvisor will provide field level support for the H&S Program at Miller while focusing on compliance with all Federal and Provincial Regulatory requirements.
Key Duties & Responsibilities Manage communications between supervisors, managers, lead hands and field level staff.
Communications will include emails, phone calls, site docs to support the regulatory department related initiatives.
Field level support and communications supporting the health and safety initiatives and programs such as corrective actions to hazard id’s, onsite training, green hand program implementation of standards and documentation (site docs).
Assistance in managing the training program including Field Training on the health and safety program standards.
Leading and/or assisting in auditing processes, internal or external Development and improving Job Safety Analysis and Risk Assessment processes.
Completing and leading safety inspections and meetings Field managing of our internal document control system including Filing and organization of all Health and Safety paperwork.
Support required safety performance reports to management, identify trends, recommend initiatives to reduce incidents and strengthen prevention measures.
Ensure that subcontractors adhere to required safety standards in keeping with Company policy/legislation as part of the overall subcontractor management program.
Assistance to the Safety & Health Manager with the collection and tracking of daily and weekly departmental KPI’s (Near Miss & Hazard ID report, incident reporting, Observations, Safety Meetings etc.) Support health and safety orientation process (for employees and sub-contractors) Participate in the Joint Health & Safety Committee.
Travel to branch offices, worksites, and customer locations as directed.
Provide general support and assistance to the Health and Safety department.
Other job duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Two years of Health and Safety experience, practical Field level HSE experience is an asset.
NCSO and/or Health and Safety Diploma is preferred.
Experience with a Behavior Based Safety Program is preferred.
KSA’s (Knowledge, Skills and Personal Attributes) ? Moderate administrative skills – including attention to detail and strong proficiency with Microsoft Office products; Word, Excel, Outlook Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.
Ability to meet deadlines under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
An organized person with the ability to highlight appropriate issues on time.
Self-directed, takes initiative, and can perform as part of a team.
Positive attitude, professional and reliable Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills are required.
Ability to work independently and in a team atmosphere.
