QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training And ExperienceCurrent registration with the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BritishColumbia (CSHHPBC).Masters degree in Speech Pathology from a recognised university;Knowledge of current Speech-Language Therapy standards, modalities and scope of practice, including swallowing assessments and therapy, communication aids, management of neurological disorders, and voice assessment and therapy; Knowledge of the processes related to continuous quality improvement;Four (4) years recent related experience, including two (2) years program management experience and two (2) years working with adult clients/patients; or An equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Skills And AbilitiesProvide leadership, supervision and staff evaluation for any direct reportsDemonstrate clinical competence congruent with service area-specific needsWork effectively as part of an multidisciplinary team, with other staff, and with patients/clients and caregivers/familiesUtilize sound judgement, tact and empathyDemonstrate good observational and assessment skillsPrioritize and organize work for self and othersAssign and delegate work appropriatelyFoster and promote good public relationsProblem solve and resolve conflictDeal with others effectivelyCommunicate effectively, both verbally and in writingOperate related equipment, including computerized systemsPhysical ability to perform the duties of the position IslandHealth CourtenayBritishColumbia
