Senior Cloud Engineer

New opportunity for experienced Cloud Engineer !
We are recruiting a Cloud Engineer to join a project team in Strasbourg for a contract assignment which will run until the end of 2025 ( extensions likely thereafter ) The work will be carried out on-site at the customer offices in Strasbourg.

Tasks and Responsibilities of the Cloud Engineer

• Design, build, and maintain Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Maven, SonarQube for efficient and automated software deployment.


• Provide deployment support across environments, leveraging Red Hat Cluster Manager for orchestration and Openshift/Kubernetes for containerization and application deployment.


• Work with Docker and Openshift to build, deploy, and manage containerized applications.


• Configure and support ServiceMesh technology, ensuring secure and efficient service communication in microservices architectures.


• Handle deployments and builds in an on-prem VMware environment.


• Participate in design discussions and provide technical recommendations for CI/CD, infrastructure, and application deployment.


• Provide ongoing support for applications after deployment, including troubleshooting, monitoring, and optimization.


• Leverage tools such as SonarQube for quality assurance, ensuring the integrity and security of deployed code.


• Provide hands-on support to the deployment team, including participating in troubleshooting sessions and reviewing infrastructure-related documentation.


• Interpret the application development, operations, and infrastructure implications of proposed solutions.


• Utilize architect solutions to implement end-to-end technology solutions that address client business challenges.


• Assess and optimize IT infrastructure, operations, and service delivery to improve efficiency and performance.


• Assist in designing and managing the implementation of new technologies, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with project objectives.

Required Skills and Experience of the Cloud Engineer

• At least 10 years of experience in a relevant industry, business consulting, or technical consulting.


• Strong experience with Continuous Integration of Java applications with Maven (GitHub Actions / Jenkins / Maven / SonarQube).


• Advanced experience with container orchestration and deployment (Kubernetes, Service mesh, Helm).


• Strong experience with Artefact repositories (Artifactory, Nexus).


• Experience with Cloud infrastructure and cloud platforms.


• Strong interest in infrastructure technologies and willingness to learn.


• Experience in data networking technologies including protocols, design, security and business continuity preferred.


• Experience of working in an agile software development environment.


• Knowledge of security best practices and tools.

Desirable:

• Experience in development of Java/Maven/SpringBoot applications.


• Experience with Red Hat OpenShift.


• Experience with Azure Cloud provider.


• Experience with GitHub actions
