Be apart of an exciting start up with the aim to develop light and transportable MRI machines.
Responsibilities Cryogenic application of thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and structural mechanics for the development of dry and/or wet cryostats; Detailed design, analysis, and testing of system components such as cryostat, cryogenic distribution system, and cryoplant systems; Design decision such as requirements management, materials and component selection; Coordinate technical activities across multiple disciplines and provide hands-on guidance to technical staff during fabrication, installation, integration of cryogenic systems in the final product; Documenting design inputs and outputs; Assisting and/or directing suppliers and partners to create prototypes; Analyzing issues related to cryogenic design and providing solutions where required; Actively participating in multidisciplinary project teams through all phases of product development to ensure successful execution of innovative and integration.
Requirements Mathcad, Thermal Desktop, ANSYS, Solidworks, COMSOL, Python, and Matlab are examples of software tools.
Familiarity with vacuum pumps, cryostats, cryocoolers, and cryogenic distribution systems; Expertise in designing, building, and assembling dry and wet cryogenic equipment using best practices; Knowledge of various material performance, design limitations, and manufacturing limitations in cold environments; Practical experience using fabrication techniques including brazing, soldering, machining, welding, and so forth; Practical experience collecting data and conducting lab tests; It is advantageous to have knowledge of closed liquid cryogen systems and liquefaction systems; It helps to have prior experience with RF shielding and eddy current mitigation.
