The Corporate Operations role

The Corporate Unit is in charge of ensuring that Alan has the means and processes to operate over the long term and implement our strategy.


Members of the Corporate Unit span a wide spectrum of expertise including Legal, Risk Management, Public Affairs, Governance and Investors Relationships.

The Corporate Operations function sits at the intersection of Alan's strategic growth and operational excellence.


As a key enabler of our company's future, this role orchestrates vital corporate initiatives

- from equity programs that share value with Alaners to governance frameworks that secure our growth, while maintaining the agility and compliance needed to achieve our ambitious goals.


Key missions

As Corporate Operations:



  • You will be in charge of our equity operations, enabling Alan’s ambition to attract and retain the best teammates:


    at Alan, we’ve decided to distribute equity to all Alaners giving them the opportunity to financially benefit from Alan’s success.


    You will be responsible for managing and improving our equity distribution model and processes.


  • You will be running and scaling top-class governance operations, supporting Alan’s corporate growth:


    This transverse position places you at a strategic intersection:


    your work will be key to maintaining positive relations with our shareholders and regulators, in close partnership with Finance and Legal areas.


    • Examples of missions include:



      • Board and General Meetings:


        preparing corporate documentation, coordinating with Finance and auditors, maintaining Board members training materials.


      • Investors relationships:


        orchestrating shareholders’ voting processes and managing special requests requiring investors’ approval.


  • You will take ownership of strategic corporate initiatives:


    to drive their successful execution, aligning with senior Alaners (Co-Founders and Leads) on the strategy and orchestrating various teams to achieve transformative company-wide initiatives.


    • Examples of strategic corporate initiatives include:



      • Acquisition of a company (M&A):


        identifying strategic opportunities for acquisition, providing assessment of the opportunity, conducting due diligence.


      • Financing round / share transactions:


        modelling impact on the shareholding structure, coordinating investors’ requests, supporting corporate documentation negotiation.


  • You will anticipate and waive corporate (financial, legal, regulatory, political) blockers:


    so we can deliver our strategy.


    You will be empowered to develop a deep understanding and smart navigation of our legal and regulatory context to take educated decisions in the context of transversal projects – helping Alan to unlock new growth channels while securing our regulatory compliance.


    • Examples of transversal projects include:



      • Implementing CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive).


      • Driving application for public grants and contests (e.g.


        Next40, BpiFrance support).


      • Identifying strategic business and product opportunities related to corporate matters (legal or public affairs opportunities, new partnerships etc.).


      • Driving initiatives to comply with new regulatory challenges we may face as we grow (e.g.


        our expansion to Canada through a new insurance license).


      • Setting-up a new legal entity as part of new strategic activities / international expansion.

Key outcomes after six months

By the end of the first six months, successful onboarding would, for example, mean for you to have:



  • Taken over ownership on capital transactions and cap table management to ensure reliable monitoring and smooth relationships with our shareholders.


  • Acted as project coordinator to at least one strategic company project (large deal/partnership, M&A project or new fundraising, regulatory onsite inspection, etc.).


  • Implemented new Corporate processes and documentation to strengthen the team’s and the Board’s knowledge.


  • Ramped up on Alan’s written and async work methodology.


Profile
Hard skills

The Corporate Unit covers a lot of areas of expertise, and the Corporate Operations is not expected to master them all.


You’ll be empowered to develop these skills as you build your path.


The Corporate Operations’s focus should be on:



  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.


  • Appetite for working with numbers, including skills in data analysis and basic Excel modelling.


  • Creativity and curiosity with the ability to dig deep into various areas of expertise with the goal to challenge the status quo.


  • Strong communication skills, able to interact internally and externally with various stakeholders.


  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.


  • Fluent in English as we communicate in English at Alan, and comfortable in written and spoken French.


  • Preferably around

    - 3 years experience in Consulting, Finance, Audit, M&A, Venture Capital or top-Legal firms.


Soft skills

  • Highly organized with exceptional follow-up skills.


  • Hands-on, not scared of getting their hands dirty.


  • Strong accountability and self-starter appetite.


  • Confident with learning new tools, technologies, and methodologies.
