Key Responsibilities:
The backend / characterisation team comes into play at the end of the wafer manufacturing process.
It produces prototype chips on submount (InP wafers cleaving, facet coating, mounting on submount) and characterises them to validate the wafers and analyse the R&D designs.
We are currently looking for an experienced engineer to strengthen this backend and characterisation team for optoelectronic components.
His/her role will be to coordinate backend and characterisation requests in interaction with the managers of the various projects, to monitor and participate in their implementation, and to analyse the results The candidate will also manage all the measurement benches, whether static (LIV measurements, spectrum, etc.) or dynamic (S11, S21, eye diagram).
It will ensure the reliability of characterisation methods and metrology, and participate in their improvement.
He/she will also develop this activity by designing new measurement benches, choosing the equipment to be purchased, assembling and validating them (linewidth or far field set-ups for example).
For the backend (wafer cleaving, facet coating, submount mounting), he/she will manage all the equipment (clippers, pick-and-place bonding machines, microscopes) and their maintenance or upgrades, and participate in the choice and purchase of new equipment.
Requirements:
Masters Degree or PhD in relevant field 5 years experience in characterisation of optoelectronic semiconductor components:
measurement methods, choice of equipment, bench assembly (optical, electrical and high-frequency aspects) Ability to organise and summarise, autonomy, solution-oriented mind.
Ability to work in a team and interact with multiple projects.
Ability to manage a technical team.
