This role will be based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
As the FinanceDirector, you will be a strategic partner and financial leader, responsible for overseeing the overall financial health and sustainability of the company operations.
Your role is pivotal in driving financial strategies that align with short and long-term business objectives, enhancing profitability, and fostering long-term growth.
Working closely with the executive leadership team, you will provide key financial insights, optimize resource allocation, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
As the financial steward, your leadership will help drive operational excellence and support the company vision of becoming a leading player in Cambodia.
The FinanceDirector will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company.
This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, job costing, legal, property management, deal analysis and negotiations, investor relationships and partnership compliance.
Job Responsibilities
Review and optimize the accounting and financial system and procedures
Review, design, set up and supervise the execution of the local strategy with regards to Working Capital, invoicing process and risk coverage, in alignment with Global guidance
Define the key local financial indicators as well as the expenses policy and procedure by defining authorization levels, monitoring cost control and negotiating with external suppliers
Research revenue opportunities and economic trends, analyze internal operations, identify areas of cost reduction and process enhancement
Perform risk management through analysis of company liabilities and investments and evaluate and manage capital structure and fundraising initiatives
Oversee internal controls, risk management, and compliance to safeguard the company's assets and financial integrity
Business relations
Business partner to the CEO in enabling organic growth while ensuring no compromise on full compliance with ethical guidelines in place
Partner with the leadership team to identify and pursue growth opportunities, including new business development and strategic investments
Provide financial insights, scenario analyses, and decision support to influence key business strategies and project evaluations
Assist the operational teams in financial related matters, including negotiation with clients and suppliers, support in calculating fees, project costing amongst others
Accounting & Finance
Ensure the accounting activities are conducted accurately, ethically, consistently and in compliance with Group policies, and relevant regulations, laws, and standards
Track budget control according to the client’s operation status, manage revenue and cost, manage forecast and control, and risk management
Lead the annual budgeting and financial forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with business priorities and work closely with management in presenting budgetary financial information
Lead financial audits, both internal and external, ensuring any findings are addressed promptly and effectively
Legal
Lead all legal matters for the company with the support of regional legal team
Give the legal assistant support and review his work
Supervise the IT team
Ensure global and local processes are in place
Reporting
Oversee the preparation and communication of financial statements and the coordination of independent auditors, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance, maintenance of appropriate internal controls and improvement actions at local level
Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to internal stakeholders and global headquarters, adhering to standards and local regulatory requirements
Assure legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations
Ensure that reporting to HQ is done timely and accurately across all agencies
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation
Other
If needed, support the merger and acquisition process for the new prospects including working with CEO for proper identification and screening of new opportunities.
Job Requirements
Bachelor or Master’s degree in finance or business administration (professional qualifications like CPA, CFA preferred)
At least
- 10 years of relevant working experience in Finance
Clear sense of business in his / her current industry and interest in becoming an adviser not only in accounting matters but also business
Experience in Southeast Asia preferred
Fluent in professional English
- French an advantage
Solid understanding of the financial and operational processes
Demonstrated business acumen and a track record of success in the finance services
Demonstrated leadership and management skills
- at least 4 years of people-management experience
Solid interpersonal and teamwork abilities
Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
