We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shipyard Logistics Manager to oversee all aspects of logistics operations in a busy refit shipyard in Marseille.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the transportation and delivery of high-value items for international shipping, ensuring smooth and efficient operations across a site that at times can be working across up to 15 large scale luxury vessels
Reporting into the General Manager, responsibilites will include:
- Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize operations and enhance efficiency
- Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely delivery and adherence to shipping regulations
- Manage inventory levels and ensure availability of necessary resources for shipping activities
- Monitor and analyze logistics performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions
- Lead a team in stores and logistics and provide guidance and support in daily operations
- Collaborating with internal teams to plan and execute logistics operations
- Communicating with carriers, freight forwarders, and customs agents to ensure smooth shipping processes
- Analyzing logistics data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement
- Supervising and providing guidance to logistics team members
- Ensuring compliance with shipping regulations and international trade requirements
Our ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field
- Proven experience in logistics management, particularly in the international shipping of high-value items
- Strong knowledge of shipping regulations, customs clearance processes, and international trade compliance
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Proficiency in logistics software and tools for tracking and monitoring shipments
