Responsibilities:

1. Support the implementation of the project ‘Emergent plastic pollution reduction and management for recovery from the livelihoods and health crisis (Thailand and Fiji)’:
   
   
   


1. Provide technical support to advance project work in Fiji and relevant Pacific countries.


2. Prepare relevant information and documents related to the project.


2. Liaise with project implementing partners to regularly follow up on the progress and deliverables of the contract.


3. Support the organisation of consultation workshops, trainings, and meetings related to the project.


4. Engage stakeholders with target countries, including national governments, the private sector, national initiatives, peer agencies, NGOs, and academia.


5. Prepare technical documents summarising the progress of project implementation and the project terminal report.


6. Prepare communication materials for the project.

Other Projects:

1. Support the implementation of other relevant plastics-related projects in Asia-Pacific under the UNEP Plastics Initiative (such as UNPDF, etc.) and improve synergies among target countries.


2. Provide an overview of ongoing plastic initiatives and projects by UNEP and other agencies.


3. Prepare a list of potential topics and conduct research for future projects in the region.

Relevant Work on Chemical and Pollution Sub-programme:

1. Support the preparation of relevant assessments, briefings, and technical documents related to the Chemical and Pollution Sub-programme (including topics on air quality, environment and health, waste management, and circularity in sectors).


2. Support the preparation of relevant events, training, and meetings related to the Chemical and Pollution Sub-programme.
