Co-founder & CEO at Spaictra:

reagents-free blood analysis

Spaictra is a deeptech company specializing in quantum states of light to characterize matter.

Context:

Blood is the single most important element in medicine today.

Almost nothing can be done without accessing it.

Yet access to blood remains constrained by excessive costs, long analysis times, and the extreme fragmentation of processes.

The reason is structural:

access to blood is still the exclusive domain of chemical methods.

By design, chemistry requires a dedicated procedure for each molecule.

Each one needs its own reagents, its own protocol, its own time, which means a specific cost for each.

At Spaictra, we believe it's time to move past this model.

We are pushing the state of the art of quantum-light and matter interaction to quantify each component using only light, thus unlocking direct access to information.

Free from cost, time, or labor constraints.

We are giving healthcare back its right to do science, and lay the ground for what medicine can become.

What we're looking for

  • Bold scientific minds, unafraid to challenge established paths.

  • Committed to hard, fundamental research.

  • Willing to push the boundaries of physics towards serving human health.

Skills and experience

  • PhD in Quantum Optics, Quantum Photonics, or a closely related field.

  • Postdoctoral experience preferred, with strong experimental background in designing and managing quantum optics or photonics setups.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the design and alignment of a quantum optics setup for the generation, manipulation, and detection of non-classical states of light tailored for biological analysis.

  • Manipulate quantum states of light, including entangled photons, and frequency-bin states, with a focus on coherence and stability in complex media.

  • Drive the development of experimental prototypes through iterative testing, refining setups and implementing improvements for robustness, reproducibility, and scalability.

  • Develop and automate data acquisition pipelines using Python, with attention to experimental repeatability and traceability.

  • Stay current with the scientific literature and propose innovative approaches to enhance the experimental methodology.

  • Advance the frontier of quantum optics by engineering and manipulating non-classical states of light for precision measurements.

  • Join the first team to bring advanced quantum technologies to the heart of biological matter and change the course of medical history.

  • Conduct high-level research with advanced resources and publish in leading journals across quantum optics and medicine.

  • Gain expertise in biology, medical science, and the structural dynamics of healthcare systems and industry.

  • Join the company’s core scientific team, where autonomy, initiative, and intellectual freedom are central values.

  • Competitive compensation based on experience, with significant equity.
