As part of their strategic expansion, we are looking for a highly experienced SeniorCommodityTrader with deep expertise in the Oil & Gas sector and a solid track record across African markets.
Position Overview:
The SeniorCommodityTrader will be responsible for developing and managing trading strategies, maintaining key relationships, and executing physical and/or paper trades in oil and gas products across African markets.
You will bring a strong network of industry contacts, proven risk management skills, and a deep understanding of the region's regulatory and logistical landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify and develop trading opportunities in crude oil, refined products, and natural gas within African markets.
Execute and manage trades to maximize profitability while controlling risk.
Build and maintain relationships with producers, refiners, NOCs, and key stakeholders across the region.
Monitor market developments, geopolitical factors, and price movements to inform trading strategies.
Coordinate with logistics, finance, and compliance teams to ensure smooth execution of transactions.
Ensure full compliance with all internal policies and external regulations.
Contribute to business development and strategic growth in the region.
Profile Required:
Minimum 10 years of experience in oil and gas commodity trading, with at least 5 years focused on African markets.
Strong network of contacts in the region (upstream/downstream players, government bodies, traders, etc.).
Deep knowledge of the physical trading lifecycle, including shipping, contracts, pricing, and hedging tools.
Proven track record of profitable trading and risk management.
Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.
Fluent in English; French or Portuguese is a strong advantage.
