General Description Working within the MarineSystemsEngineering Group this position's main responsibility is to lead the outfitting design of the WindFloat; by analyzing client requirements and environmental constraints, integrating and defining the main systems used on the platform and ensuring the consistency between all the systems.
The chosen candidate will work alongside a team of inter-disciplinary engineers and modelers / drafters and will be expected to provide technical and project leadership within their scope of responsibility.
The main activities will focus on structural and equipment layouts, general arrangements, piping design, instrumentation integration, and safety systemsengineering considering regulations and risk management.
Work may be at any stage of the project lifecycle, from conceptual design through fabrication support.
Successful candidates tend to have significant offshore or marineengineering experience as well as multi-disciplinary or field experience.
PrinciplePower currently operates a hybrid work schedule with 3 days per week to be spent in one of PrinciplePower's offices.
Offices are presently located in Aix-en-Provence, France; Lisbon, Portugal; Emeryville, California, USA; and Houston, Texas, USA.
Main Accountabilities Gathering, interpreting, and managing technical requirements.
Developing the high-level requirements for the main systems on the WindFloat related to such topics as safety, material handling, corrosion, and access.
Designing and optimizing platform layouts.
Detailing specifications, datasheets, material requisitions, and technical bid evaluations for equipment related to safety, material handling equipment and corrosion protection.
Lead risk management activities including management of risk registers within their scope of responsibility.
Preparing various fabrication deliverables such as MTO's, technical queries, etc Detail review of fabrication drawings and specifications.
Writing and detailing operations and maintenance manuals.
Interfacing with engineers from other company disciplines (Structural, Global Performance, Mooring, Safety, Fabrication, and Installation) to ensure project requirements are met.
Developing, maintaining and delivering work products to project schedules for assigned work scopes.
Organizing multidisciplinary work packages between drafting and analysis groups.
Providing mentorship and guidance to other team members.
Skills & Competencies 5+ years of experience Experience working in a project environment and managing requirements.
Understanding manufacturing constraints.
Knowledge of the offshore wind, offshore oil & gas, or maritime industry preferred.
Field experience in Offshore, marine or Shipbuilding industries preferred.
Experience in safety processes Proficient with Microsoft tools, namely Word and Excel.
English proficiency is mandatory; both written and spoken.
Experience working in a multi-cultural and multi-time zone environment would be beneficial.
