Created in 1990 by Secours Catholique, Cités Caritas provides reception, accommodation, support, and integration services for people experiencing exclusion and/or disability.
Cités Caritas has a headquarters and facilities across the country, including the Cité Béthanie in the Nouvelle Aquitaine region, which manages various services such as emergency shelters, social reintegration centers, and family residences, mainly in Dordogne and Gironde.
Under the authority of a service manager at Cité Béthanie in Bergerac, the peer worker applies their experiential knowledge in addictionology to serve clients and teams, fostering collaboration and respecting clients' autonomy and rhythms.
Responsibilities include:
- Individual support:
welcoming, listening, maintaining relationships, informing on addictions, advising on care pathways, assessing abilities, monitoring health, and supporting daily life activities.
- Prevention and health promotion:
organizing prevention activities, raising awareness, identifying health needs, co-facilitating workshops, and collaborating with team and partners.
Requirements include personal experience with addictive behaviors, capacity for reflection and mobilizing experiential knowledge, interest in health and support topics, teamwork skills, network collaboration, reporting abilities, resilience, adaptability, and mastery of motivational approaches.
Training in peer support is a plus.
