Media business with a collaborative culture and really nice working environment for the two days required to be in office, is looking for an AWS Engineer.
They are looking for a solid AWS skill set, but also someone with an open mind on other Cloud solutions, where an alternative might be a better fit (GCP / Azure).
The role can be described as split in to three key areas:
1) Hands-on AWS work:
Creating EC2 Instances Setting up S3 Buckets Route 53 Supporting a number of large complex apps and databases, including MongoDB Identity Access Control Enabling the Development team to utilize DevOps and supporting development team with CI/CD.
Managing hosting requirements.
DNS and Domain Management.
2) Strategic thinking:
Aiming to simplify achitecture, ensure using most modern deployment methods, advising the business on best approach, keeping an open mind on AWS vs Azure or GCP.
3) Engagement with business and tech stakeholders:
working with parent company to represent interests and ensure support is appropriate.
Understanding what the business needs and delivery against this.
About you Solid AWS skill set in the areas described above.
Able to think about the best solutions for the business and to meet problems as they arise.
Confident communicator, able to engage with a wide variety of stakeholders.
Collaborative and a team player.
They are a small team and people generally muck in when and where needed to support each other.
