Air Freight / Cargo Branch Manager Location:
Manchester Overview This is a hands-on management position that has direct influence on the branch, performance and results of the Manchester Airport Branch.
This position will manage and oversee our operations and personnel of 16 staff at Manchester You will be responsible for the successful operation and management of the branch and ensure a high standard of customer service is achieved.
In addition, you will maintain a standard of prompt and efficient freight movement and ensure that all data entry is accurately recorded both manually and via our clients systems according to company and industry regulations and standards.
Products include general import and export, click2ship, security screening, handling operations, road operations and 3PL.
You will set budgets accordingly with the Vice President to ensure that revenue and profit goals are consistently met.
You will conduct regular customer calls to develop and improve customer relations and performance and gain new business in cooperation with the Service and Sales team.
By providing leadership and maintaining a level of professional behaviour.
It is expected that you will develop, coach and provide a culture of learning and development in all areas of the business.
Main accountabilities include:
- Responsible for the management of the Manchester Site including customer service levels, warehouse operation and Security arrangements.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with the customer base within Manchester and surrounding areas.
- Ensure that the branch is fully compliant with all Security and Health and Safety requirements & regulations.
- Actively seek to improve processes and control costs within site.
- Responsible for all staff training, appraisals, absence management, recruitment, investigations, and disciplinary action as appropriate - Ensure the building is presented to a high standard of house keeping.
- Ensure all equipment is maintained to a high standard.
- Report any incidents or accidents in line with company policy.
- Ensure all jobs are invoiced and costed accurately on a weekly basis.
- Plan, prepare reports as required by the VP and monitor annual budget month on month.
- Commercially focused, always looking to new growth opportunities to increase branch profits.

- Proven leadership skills and ability to manage a team effectively - Ensure operational Compliance with all Safety/Security & Customs requirements for Manchester office - In-depth knowledge of Air Cargo Industry, including pricing, sales and administration procedures.
- Proven verbal and written skills - Possess confidence in presenting information to key stakeholders.
