Role Summary The main responsibilities of the Chef de Partie will be:

To be totally customer focused by consistently delivering excellent customer service with an informed, friendly and effective approach.

To be responsible for the preparation and presentation of all dishes in your allocated working area to help ensure that guests receive efficient service and high quality dishes.

To gain experience in all sections of the kitchen and ensure that company and legal requirements are maintained at all times.

As part of the role we would like to give you the opportunity to progress to Sous Chef through on the job training.

Main duties and responsibilities To be fully aware of The Rep activities and facilities.

To be fully aware of the preparation and service of all dishes on The Rep menus.

To prepare and present dishes on hotel menus to standard, making adjustments as appropriate to meet any customer requests or dietary requirements.

To ensure mise en place is carried out in your allocated area of work to meet forecasted demand.

To record temperature checks on food and in storage areas as directed to ensure statutory requirements are met and report any variances so they can be rectified immediately.

To follow portion control guidelines in order to ensure the profitability of the kitchen is maintained.

To ensure food materials are stored correctly and rotated to meet company and legal requirements.

To keep food wastage to a minimum.

To maintain high standards of working practices in terms of personal appearance and working methods.

To assist with the training of and supervise junior members of the kitchen brigade.

To assist with quality control and menu planning where appropriate.

To practice the correct and safe use and care of all items of equipment.

To report any damage or wear and tear occurring within your areas of work.

To ensure all security and control procedures laid down are strictly adhered to.

To assist with various cleaning duties as required.

To be aware of product costs and kitchen gross profit targets.

To assist with the ordering of food materials as required following Company procedures.

To ensure on all occasions you observe safe and hygienic working practices in order to satisfy the requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act and other statutory legislation.

To attend training when required.

To be fully aware of and strictly observe Food Hygiene, Health & Safety, Fire Safety and Security policies and procedures.

To be fully aware of and comply Company rules and regulations as identified in the Team Member handbook and on the Team Noticeboards.

Specific Responsibilities To ensure kitchen porters cleaning schedules are being followed and fully completed to standard.

To take action when and where required to rectify any failings and/or report any non-compliance issues to the Head Chef or Sous Chef.

To support any senior chef in the absence of the Head Chef.

To attend daily meetings and communicate changes in the business and other relevant information.

General Responsibilities Adhere to and implement the guidelines, procedures and policies of the company as detailed in the staff policies (available from the staff intranet).

Play a role in the life of the company and work across departments to develop a positive and engaged organisational culture including playing active and positive roles in staff forums/committees.

Be aware of, and comply with, rules and legislation pertaining to Health & Safety at work and abide by the procedures set out in the Health & Safety Policy.

Be aware of, and comply with, rules and legislation pertaining to data security, and GDPR, at work and abide by the procedures set out in the Data Protection Policy.

All staff are expected to demonstrate an understanding of, and adherence to, our safeguarding policy, including a duty to report any issues of concern.

The post-holder may be required to undertake other reasonably determined duties and responsibilities within the organisation which are appropriate with the level of the role without changing the general character of the post.

The post-holder may also be called upon to carry out duties that would not normally be associated with the post on a temporary basis where there is a strong organisational requirement for that to happen.

The post-holder would be given appropriate training and equipment to carry out any duties of this kind.

Key Relationships This role forms part of the Catering & Hospitality Team .

This is a permanent, annualised contract, subject to successful completion of a probationary period of 3 months .

Pay:

£21,118.17
- £24,021.66 per annum dependant on experience.

Hours:

2,028 per annum (equivalent to 39 hours per week) Some evening and weekend work will be required.

Holidays:

20 days per year plus public holidays rising to 25 with service, plus bank holidays.

The holiday year runs from 1 September to 31 August each year.
