Position Reports to – Head of Global PGM Trading Knowledge & Experience Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related discipline.
5 years of progressive experience in a commodity trading environment.
3 years of experience on a precious metals trading desk, with majority of focus being in the PGM area preferred.
Demonstrated strong understanding of global financial markets.
Experience in marketing and commercial activities.

Customer service Answering customer queries where possible.
Regularly visits on existing customers with a view to discovering new aspects of their precious metal’s requirements, which we can profitably meet.
Work closely with traders in quoting and hedging precious metals deals.
Regularly call on potential customers with a view to discovering new aspects of their precious metal’s requirements, which we can profitably meet.
Target new PGM customers (OEMs, Chemical companies, Pharma, and Hydrogen markets, etc) Write and present precious metals packages/proposals to customers in co-operation with traders and other internal stakeholders, such as account managers.
Ensure that all proposals contain complete financial information so that the Profit and Loss of each deal is readily visible and can be set against any possible market/credit risk a deal can give rise to.
Make certain that each proposal meets the Company’s risk/reward criteria and is in line with the business unit's objectives.
Allocate own time and travel to customers (30-50%) and projects according to priorities agreed by the Head of commercial.
Communicate with other commercial/trading counterparties within the business unit who could benefit from information gathered from the market.
Work closely with traders in closing and quoting on precious metals deals to customers.
Lease management Communicating lease quotes, ensuring clear internal communication of customer intentions to return /roll over metal obligations.
Manage account receivables with credit department.
Keep customers informed for any market leasing trends to capture most value for our business.
Manage Master lease agreements with customers.
Trading Develop further understanding of the trading business with a view to providing back up for certain front desk activities where necessary.
Use information from trading team to create value for Precious Metals business when discussing with both existing and potential customers.
Complying with compliance policies and ensuring that all commercial/trading activities meet compliance standards.
PGM planning.
Obtaining PGM forecasting from internal businesses, PGM markets and from OEMs/chemical customers Monitoring of forecasting relative to existing open forward trades Understand global market developments and the impact they have on the Company’s PGM business.
Ad hoc data mining Review of historic credit lines, optimizing credit process Tracking monthly sales volumes and prices Liaising with Operations to optimise data gathering techniques.
Market research Macro and commodity market analysis and research Identifying areas for new business development Provide, maintain, and update existing commercial reports and analyses.
Internal Business unit liaison Accurately taking and recording daily orders Distributing daily/monthly price, reports, drafting monthly activity and commentary reports.
Identify and successfully develop new PGM customers through other business units within the Catalysts division and independently through visits and follow-ups.
Close collaboration with precious metals legal team for reviewing/updating supply/Master forward/leasing agreements.
