Part-time (4 days per week); between Monday to Friday, 10am–6pm The AA is an independent architectural school and an international cultural institution that serves as a forum for ideas.

The Architectural Association was founded in 1847, opening as a day school in 1901.

The School is recognised as a worldwide leader in architectural education, with graduates that include many of the world’s leading architects, scholars, critics and educators.

The academic and professional programmes of study at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, up to and including doctoral level, are validated by external professional and academic bodies.

The AA campus is located in historic 18th century Bedford Square in London with a 350 acre woodland setting in Hooke Park in Dorset.

The AA has an annual revenue of £18 million, a student body of 1000 students, 200 faculty, 90 staff, 6,500 members and thousands of visitors that come to engage with the most relevant debates in architecture today.

Role Overview:

The Communications Studio Editor will focus on all AA Publications being produced by the school.

This includes printed books, online editorial projects and ebooks.

The role contributes to the cultural production of the school through involvement with the development, commissioning and co-ordination of editorial projects within the Communications Studio and AA Publications.

The appointed candidate will report directly to the Head of Communications.

The role is key in the editing, co-ordination and delivery of all publications and includes editing, copy-editing, fact-checking, helping writers to convey their ideas in written form and proofreading, in order to disseminate cultural content from within the school to the AA Community and a variety of external audiences.  The role will work closely with the editorial team within the Communications Studio, as well as with contributing editors and authors; and will lead the proofreading process for all titles while assisting with the scheduling and delivery of publication projects.

There is the possibility of Hybrid working for this position the details will have to be agreed upon with the manager.
