A significant part of this role is the design and development of effective riskcontrols across the operational estate.Together operates a three lines of defence model, and this role ensures that the first line can support the business in reducing and eliminating incidents by ensuring that we take prudent, effective steps to ensure our processes are adhered to, and lead to quality and predictable outcomes.Beyond our regulatory obligations, we want to ensure that customers have a great experience of working with Together – and so we want our processes to be designed to create minimal friction for the customer whilst simultaneously giving us the assurance that errors are spotted and, preferably, prevented from ever becoming errors.What you'll be doing day to day:
Work with the process and control owners to design controls that are effective, scalable and repeatableUndertake testing for control effectiveness – providing assurance that the intended controls detect any errors before this leads to a customer detrimentHighlight significant gaps between the existing controls and optimal controls to eliminate risks – and help building compelling businesses cases for system changes or new automation to addressMaintain a working knowledge of the regulatory landscape and specific conditions levied against key processesAct as a champion for effective risk and control whilst always thinking about how we keep things simple for the customer and our colleaguesKeep things simple, proportionate and actionable.Ensure that the first line teams are clear on the “who, what, when and how” for each documented controlProvide rigorous challenge around the effectiveness of controls from a ‘real customer outcomes’ perspective.

You will be comfortable influencing senior stakeholders to ensure that they’ve looked at their own processes with a critical eye and an appreciation of their regulatory obligations.You may have a deep understanding of the processes themselves, but will have a primary skillset around risk and control.
