About the Role Base Location:

We will, however need your base 'home' location to be one of our SSE offices or depots around the UK including but not limited to Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen, Inverness, Reading and Havant.
Salary:
£44,100 - £66,100 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available What is the Role? The CommercialManager plays a pivotal role in DistributedEnergy (DE) by driving our ambition to become a market leading DE business through best practices.
As the CommercialManager, you will be responsible for driving the commercial processes and controls to allow DistributedEnergy to continue to deliver commercially successful projects.
Your focus will primarily be to deliver the Commercial elements for a portfolio of customer site based multi-technology project renewable assets.
You will also be influential in supporting ambitious growth plans expected for the sector, constantly driving good commercial process and performance.
Key accountabilities; - Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders including; Project Developers, Asset Managers, Business Development Managers, Directors, as well as internal Legal and Finance functions.
- Work closely with the Project Development team to support the development of new customer based projects.
This will include the negotiation of project development agreements, Heads of Terms to capture the key commercial agreement and negotiate the final PPA position with the end client in conjunction with Legal support.
- Ensure Commercial Governance procedures are followed at all times to ensure Gate Process approval throughout the development lifecycle.
- Determine, challenge and own commercial assumptions and controls in new bids and ensure consistency of assumptions across models.
- Consistently apply a commercial approach to new ideas and business change, ensuring results are clearly communicated across the wider business.
- Work alongside Project Developers, Procurement and Finance to ensure ongoing alignment with contractual requirements for customers, suppliers and partners.
- Undertake commercial reviews and analysis where required.
- Continually strive to innovate and add value to the business.

What do I need? To be considered for this role, we would love you to; - Have experience of working in the energy industry, with an understanding of the DistributedEnergy market, in particular the development of either solar or small scale wind energy.
- Have an understanding of day-to-day and long-term financial requirements of an asset-based business.
Some experience of financial investment modelling would be of value.
- Have experience of negotiating and interpreting commercial contracts.
- Have experience of customer negotiations.
- Be able to collect, interpret and analyse complex information, as well as be able to effectively communicate such ideas/challenges to colleagues and senior managers.
- Have a general attitude to 'do the right thing' for customers, colleagues and the wider business, being willing to take a firm view and to challenge other stakeholders when required.
- Be highly committed, and self-motivated, with the ambition to get stuck in and build a high-profile career in SSE.
