Essexyouth services are looking for a highly motivated and skilled youth and communityworker to work as part of the team in the west of the county, to develop our community capacity building youth work model.

We are looking a dynamic youthworker with significant experience of working with young people and members of the community to continue to develop our model.
The successful candidate will supervise and support a team of youth support workers and volunteers to develop the local youth offer.
To be considered for this post you will have experience and knowledge of implementing policies procedures including safeguarding, health and safety and anti discriminatory youth work practice.
You will support the senior youthworker to commission activity, work collaboratively with colleagues and partners, and help others to develop high quality youth work provisions.
You will be a creative thinker with a strong focus on improving outcomes.
You will be both proactive and responsive, combining energy and enthusiasm with the tenacity and drive to see things through.
Job Purpose Summary Work closely with the Senior Youth and CommunityWorker to help young people and the community to develop the skills and capacity to design and deliver youth provision in their community Have supervisory responsibility for the Youth Support Workers and volunteers within a quadrant area.
Make contact and establish relationships with professionals, young people, and their communities Ensuring the ‘voice’ of young people is heard in the design and delivery of effective youth work provision Encouraging and enabling young people to participate in a range of educational and personal development activities Ensuring access to information and personal support, which enables young people to develop the confidence and skills to become creative, active members of their communities.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead work that develops a positive culture through exemplar behaviour in accordance with ECC’s values and behaviours Manage employees in working flexibly and collaboratively across the service and wider children and families service to support the organisations key outcomes Work to the organisational capability standards through good people management, including the training and development, mentoring and coaching of team members Thinking creatively, challenging the norms, and constructively challenging those around them (including those more senior) to ensure continuous improvement, commercial astuteness, and inspire the same in others Ensure the proper implementation of risk management, including Health and Safety and Business Continuity Knowledge, Skills and Experience Successful candidate will hold a JNC recognised youth work qualification at level 6 or, to apply as an in training post, a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in a relevant field and be willing to undertake a JNC Level 6 qualification Successful candidate must hold a GCSE A-C or equivalent in English and Maths and have good IT skills Ability to collaborate with partners to develop the local youth offer The ability to effectively motivate and manage a team of youth support workers and volunteers.
Ability to build relationships and relate well to young people Commitment to challenging prejudice and ignorance Ability to develop work with young people to achieve planned outcomes Ability to run effective meetings, engaging partner organisations and young people in these forums Ability to work cohesively as part of a team The job requires you to be mobile throughout an operational area, a current driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential To read more about us please visit:
