The FinancialController is responsible for accounting & financial control in the UK business.
Reporting directly to the Group FinancialController, the FinancialController creates effective business processes and manages a team of 5, working closely with all group businesses in the UK and the Group finance team to ensure that the processes are followed, and accurate monthly reporting is completed on a timely basis.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee the period-end and year end close process for UK locations and subsidiaries.
Manage a team of 5 reports to ensure proper delivery of key information to the Group finance team to ensure they provide accurate & timely financial reporting to the board, investors and other key strategic partners each month.
Ensure reporting compliance across management agreements and leases; drafting and presenting financial reporting to all such parties.
Review the monthly balance sheet reconciliations, prepared mostly by reports whilst performing reconciliations for the more judgmental and technical areas within the accounts, to ensure the business has absolute clarity over its Balance Sheet.
Lead the design and implementation (D&I) of a financial control framework and policies in the UK, and collaborate with the wider business on implementation of IT infrastructure and Systems.
D&I of new controls, processes & systems will be frequent as a result of new venues opening and new business initiatives.
Ensure operating effectiveness of the business control framework by ensuring venue teams are properly following processes on an ongoing basis.
Maintain a rolling cashflow for the US business so that management can plan and allocate resources accordingly.
Approve and control payments and recognition for rent & rates related expenditure.
To streamline and generate stronger efficiency within our financial processes on a continuous basis PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) A minimum of 2-3 years post qualified experience Experience in livemusic, hospitality, events industry preferred Skilled at managing multiple priorities and relationships Proficient in Microsoft Office/Excel, experience with Microsoft Business Central would be an advantage Strong written and verbal communication skills and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail Handle actively welcomes applicants from under-represented backgrounds - we pride ourselves on attracting the best talent for every opportunity through a commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
