Job Description About the team:


- The Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR) team is responsible for supporting Experians Global Business units by investigating Cyber Security Incidents, violation of company policy, fraud, and other digital investigations.

The DFIR Team reports to the Cyber Forensics Manager as a function of the Experian Global Security Operations Centre.

The Senior Cyber Forensic Investigator within Experians Digital Forensic and Incident Response Team provides advanced digital forensics and incident response services to Experian's Business units through preservation, collection, and analysis of electronically stored information (ESI).

This position will regularly work with Experians global business lines and support the strategies of the Cyber Forensics Manager, Senior Director of Digital Forensics & Incident Response, and the Chief Information Security Officer.

Please note:

We can offer remote flexibility for this position though given the nature of the role you will need to be able to make it to our Nottingham office to access the facilities there on occasion.

Key Responsibilities:


- Independently investigates complex cases involving cyber security incidents, suspected data breaches, intellectual property theft, insider threat investigations, fraud and abuse, asset misuse, and violations of corporate policy.

Responsible for preserving ESI data from a variety of platforms and sources; including laptops, desktops, servers, cloud services, mobile devices, and storage media in a manner that follows industry best practices and maintains forensic integrity.

Works hours or shifts outside of normal work hours in an on call capacity as needed.

Works well in a team environment, with the ability to train, coach, and lead junior members of the larger team.

Interprets device and application logs from a variety of sources (i.e., Firewalls, Proxies, Web Servers, System Logs, Splunk, Packet Captures, etc.) to identify anomalies or evidence of compromise.

Presents digital forensics findings to management, legal and business leaders.

Oversee operations and maintenance designated Digital Forensics Lab Environment, including all technologies, evidence, and processes.

Provides expert witness testimony as a digital forensic examiner on behalf of Experian.

Establishes and maintains excellent working relationships with stakeholders, management, and infrastructure support teams throughout the global organization.

Qualifications Key Requirements Solid technical experience with incident response or digital forensic analysis (host file system forensics, network forensics, memory forensics, cloud forensics, or malware analysis/reverse-engineering).

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Security/Cybersecurity, Digital Forensics, Information Technology, Criminal Justice
- preferred Demonstrable experience working within a Digital Forensics or Incident Response Team, Law Enforcement, and/or Military experience may be accepted in lieu of this requirement.

Experience with commercial and/or open-source digital forensic tools (Magnet Axiom, EnCase, FTK, X-Ways, Autopsy, Volatility, SIFT Workstation, NUIX).

Understanding file system (i.e., FAT, NTFS, HFS+, APFS) and operating system artifacts from various operating systems (i.e., Windows, Linux, Mac OSX).

Possesses excellent report writing, communication, and presentation skills.

One or more professional certifications related to Digital Forensics and/or Incident Response (i.e., GCFE, GCIH, GNFA, GCFA, GREM, EnCE, MCFE, CFCE) Ability to work effectively prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Proficient at communicating effectively, including the ability to communicate highly technical concepts both verbally and in writing.

Experience with conducting digital forensics investigations and incident response activities within a global enterprise, across multiple platforms and technologies.

General working knowledge of networking protocols, security technologies, and application services.

Working knowledge of information security standards and data privacy regulations, including EU General Data Protection Regulation (UE GDPR).

Able to travel domestically and internationally, as needed, to support DFIR unit activities, major security incidents, or high priority investigations.

Must maintain a valid passport.

Desired Qualifications:


- Strong demonstrated knowledge of common network intrusion methods and cyber attack tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).

Experience with conduct digital forensics and incident response activities within cloud computing environments (i.e., Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure).

Experience conducting network forensic investigations based on evidence gather from a variety of networking sources, including packet captures, netflow, cloud flow logs, etc.

Experience with leveraging Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR/XDR) tools as part of digital forensics or incident response investigations, including threat hunting and log analysis.

Scripting (i.e., PowerShell, bash, etc.) and/or dev/programming (Python, Ruby, Java, Go) experience.
