In this newly created role, you will report to the Chief Technology Officer and play a key role within the IT leadership team for a highly profitable company with over 150 employees and a £200 million turnover.
Role and Responsibilities:
As an experience SoftwareEngineering Leader you will inspire a cross-functional team of Developers and Testers (Team size 10) to deliver outstanding software solutions for a platform that provides web and mobile solutions to B2B and B2C customers in the smart mobility and customer booking space with a focus on automotive, Electric Vehicle and Fleet solutions.
You will drive the refine and execute the vision and strategy for the department to improve quality, agility and value creation.
There is a strong team in place and you will be able to collaborate with the Head of Product & Head of Architecture to ensure teams are aligned and delivering to plan.
You will ensure the development requirements of the product roadmap are delivered on-time, in budget and to the required quality.
You will be responsible for nurturing a pipeline of talent by providing training, mentoring and coaching to your team, whilst ensuring that this is cascaded throughout the department.
Ensuring that the department has all the required skills.
You will be accountable for all hiring and performance management.
What you'll bring:
* Previous experience in leadership positions in a SoftwareEngineering organisation, ideally in roles spanning various stages of the SDLC * Strong technical (systems architecture, data, CI/CD, software development standards) and business acumen * Knowledge and understanding of achieving and maintaining agility, as well as the tools and frameworks relating to Agile (Scrum, Kanban, scaling frameworks, XP, etc.) * Strong people management and leadership skills with the gravitas to contribute meaningfully and constructively to the leadership team * Oversee the activities of the development and testing team providing leadership and regular reporting to the senior IT management team.
Technology, Tools, Training & Experience * Strong experience across PHP, MySQL, AWS, JavaScript, React/Vue, Laravel framework, Microservice architectures.
Additional coding languages an advantage.
* Strong knowledge of DevOps, Continuous integration, tools such as Jira, Gitlab and experience on automated testing * Experience of building Mobile Apps and responsive designs * Deep experience of Agile development techniques.
Salary & Benefits There is a very competitive salary of £80,000pa with a 20% Performance related bonus, Pension and 25 days holiday (that increases with each year of service).
