Previous experience of VMware management and maintenance coupled with an understanding of Microsoft Server technologies and associated services.
General troubleshooting experience as well as an appreciation of disaster recovery technologies.
Previous experience working in a law firm may be beneficial, but is not crucial.
A thriving team in a top 100 law firm You will be working for a top 100 law firm which has grown its IT team substantially over recent years as the company continues along its strategy to upgrade and integrate its IT capabilities in line with the overall business strategy of the firm.
In particular, the successful candidate will:
report to the Service Delivery Manager of the Infrastructure team to develop and maintain the Operational Infrastructure / IT Systems both nationally and global; be a point of escalation for more complex issues encountered by the team of Service Desk Analysts; embrace and enable the firm's IT roadmap work in line with all relevant policies for all service delivery matters and technological matters as well as hardware and software procurement.
proactively contribute to knowledge transfer to the IT Service Desk to move repetitive and well documented tasks to this team.
create and maintain test plans and recovery methods of all systems as well as other documentation and procedures.
keep themselves up-to-dated in relation to relevant trends in the market especially infrastructure and security trends.

You will also work on key transformative projects pan UK and across the firm's global network.
The role is very varied.
On the one hand you can expect to be working with the IT Service Desk function helping them to find solutions to more complex issues.
At the same time, you may be implementing key strategy changes and working with the firm's PMO function as you gain invaluable experience helping to deliver cutting edge projects.
