As our new LeadSoftwareEngineer, youll help shape and implement the teams technical approach across a variety of different projects, from long-standing best-in-class automotive eCommerce platforms, to the development of cutting-edge campaign activity in the retail, technology, travel and charity sectors.

What youll do.
As LeadSoftwareEngineer in the McCann Bristol UX & Development team, you will be developing platforms across the agencys wide variety of clients, with responsibility for the teams DevOPs and supporting delivery of the business security protocol.
Youll define technical scopes of work for projects, provide timings and technical specifications, and be empowered to take ownership of development schedules, supported by project management.
In addition, as our LeadEngineer, youll plan and oversee the development teams workflow and report progress, and iteratively test work in progress alongside the QA team.
What youll bring to the party.
Significant PHP experience, ideally with Yii, Symphony or Laravel Experience with MySQL or MariaDB Experience of modernJavascript development, optimally with both vanilla JS and a framework such asVue Experience of a templating engine such as twig or blade Experience with the set up and management of git repositories and collaborating with other developers through branching, merging and pull requests Knowledge of basic secure web application development, such as OWASP top 10 Experience of set up, configuration and management of a web server such as nginx or Apache Ability to effectively communicate hurdles to enable the team to effectively manage clients expectations and workload.
Good collaboration and communication skills with technical and non-technical clients and colleagues Working with IDE such as PHPStorm Experience of debugging using tools such as XDebug Ability to write technical documentation during the planning phases and use these to produce timing estimates that inform project plans and task list with the project manager Comfortable building, maintaining and utilising deployment pipelines for QA and production environments NB:
