Soundbyte OccupationCostAccountantLondon Head Office, Houndsditch (with hybrid remote working) Grade C Salary £competitive Job Description The Opportunity Reporting into the Senior OccupationCostAccountant, you will be responsible for the overall management of the occupationcosts of Rail, Hospitals and other formats within Travel UK.
This role will be a hybrid role encompassing both management accounting and commercial planning, and will require you to liaise with all areas of the business plus external landlords.
The Accountabilities * Understanding and managing the entire rent process, contracts and payment methods for the specified formats * Maintaining live trackers for the following:
rent database of current contract terms; cash payments made versus expectations; turnover statements and dates of required submissions; balance sheet reconciliations; rent inbox maintenance * Month end reporting and journal creation for the specified formats; including value added analysis on differences * Creation of weekly, monthly and ad hoc payment requests to ensure landlords are paid on time as per contractual terms * Delivery of budgeting/forecasting and 3 year plans to business timelines for the specified formats * Ownership of producing and delivering turnover rent statements on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis in accordance with contract terms * Balance sheet reconciliations on ad hoc basis in preparation for the annual/interim audit * Understand and apply the IFRS 16 accounting requirements in relation to the specified formats, including updating IFRS system with lease changes on a monthly basis and assisting in the production of IFRS budgets * Assist and support the senior occupationaccountant with ad hoc requests as necessary The Requirements for the Role * Part qualified accountant with 1-2 years industry experience, ideally within property sector or property division of the business * Previous management accounting and balance sheet reconciliation experience *Highly proactive and organised individual, who has experience of managing conflicting priorities * A keen eye for detail and accuracy, ensuring financial data is summarised in a logical and informative manner * Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with finance and non-finance individuals * Intermediate excel skills including use of vlookups and sumifs and ability to manipulate large volumes of data using these What we can offer you • Competitive salary • Annual bonus based on company and personal performance • Hybrid working model from home and in the office • 24 Days holiday, plus your Birthday off, plus Bank Holidays with an opportunity to buy extra days holiday • Finish at 4pm on a Friday • Competitive pension contribution • Staff discount card for stores and online WHSmith LondonEngland
