We have an opportunity available for a OperationsManager / Director to join our team based in Bridgwater .
You will join us on a full time, permanent basis and in return you will recieve a competitive salary.
About the role:
You will be a part of the Senior Management Team with overall responsibility for the Operations team, comprising Production, Purchasing, Stores/Despatch and Service.
Ensuring that customer requirements are manufactured, delivered and commissioned both cost-effectively and in a timely manner.
Whilst also ensuring that all relevant Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety system/procedures are followed.
You will also develop, monitor and improve KPIs for the department, ensuring the continual performance improvement of the operational team and customers' expectations are met or exceeded.at all times.
Responsibilities of the OperationsManager / Director will include:
Purchasing/Stores:
Development and implementation of the company sourcing strategy to ensure the security and effectiveness of the supply chain.
Monitor and improve supplier performance and address under-performance where identified.
Ensure the effective management of stock and control of WIP to minimise costs and risk in the business.
Production:
Ensure on-time in full deliveries through effective planning and organisation of resources.
Ensure production standards are developed and maintained, whilst identifying and implementing production efficiency improvements.
Effective control of overtime.
Minimise waste within the production environment and develop a culture of continuous improvement.
Service:
Manage the field service engineering team (through the departmental manager) Ensure customer deliveries, commissioning, service and support are delivered in a timely manner.
Ensure the team have the required resources and training to meet the customer requirements and standards.
Quality:
Ensure that company quality systems are maintained, and that quality and procedures are followed in all departments.
Work with the technical department to ensure that the products produced perform according to the standards and customer requirements.
Take ownership of operational non-conformances and resolve root causes to prevent reoccurrence.
Health and Safety:
Manage health and safety committee and systems within the business (with support from external competent person) General:
Manage HR processes within the operations team.
Identify training requirements and ensure adequate skill exist within the team.
Identify, report and improve KPI's in each department.
Essential key skills we're looking for in our OperationsManager / Director:
