Newcastle or Telford This role sits within HMRC's Chief Digital & Information Office (CDIO) who set the technology direction for HMRC and deliver the high-level design for all IT solutions.
CDIO is responsible for building and running HMRC IT services along with providing IT change and operational support.
The PlatformSupport team within Service Central & Technical Services (SC&TS) deliver enterprise tooling and associated infrastructure on behalf of CDIO.
SC&TS are accountable for the support, management and development of platforms, tools and infrastructure including ServiceNow, Snow and AWS/Azure.
Our focus is on ensuring consistent, excellent Customer Experience.
The team works in a demanding environment, supporting a large, complex estate and includes experienced Infrastructure Engineers, Technical Analysts/Developers, and an Agile Project Management function.

Job description The PlatformSupportLead role is a strategic role, accountable for the delivery of enterprise tooling on behalf of SC&TS.
This is a key function within the wider CDIO organisation due to its responsibility for business-critical systems used across the estate.
You will be responsible for the service management of HMRCs ServiceNow platform ensuring service availability, performance, and process maturity.
An inspiring and motivating leader, you will manage a fully functioning PlatformSupport team.
The team of 40 colleagues work across various technical and governance roles over multiple sites.
You will lead the team to deliver and support new and existing tooling within SC&TS ensuring adequate resources, monitoring capacity, and developing capability.
Main Responsibilities Be responsible for the service management of SC&TSs and SM&Os applications and tools Ensure that adequate reporting and service standards are met Ensure that all technical change is communicated and managed, adhering to appropriate process and governance Responsible for the exploitation of tooling and technologies to support processes and users Develop a detailed understanding of the tooling owned and used within Service Central & Technical Services and wider.
Manage the delivery of tooling for CDIO and other key stakeholders such as VOA, HMRC contact centres, HR, HMRC Transformation and suppliers.
Participate in the evaluation of new tooling within SC&TS, understanding requirements and ensuring alignment throughout.
Articulate and managing risks to supported services and the SC&TS delivery group.
