What you’ll be doing:
We have an exciting opportunity for a ProjectQuantitySurveyor who will be responsible for managing a portfolio of projects with minimal supervision to ensure that value for money is achieved alongside contractual compliance.
You will join one of our established and expanding Commercial Teams and over the course of your career at Thames Water, you could have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects ranging in value from £25k to £200M.
Your core duties will include:
· Providing Commercial Assurance of Wholesale Services Delivery Contracts · Challenging, negotiating and agreeing on Project Tenders on assigned Portfolio · Compiling estimates for Customers / Developers · Ensuring that payments are made on time and in accordance with the Contract for your given portfolio of Projects · Assessing the Quantum of Change and/or Extension of Time under the relevant Contracts on the assigned portfolio · Ensuring that appropriate processes are in place and monitored on your Projects to ensure that Contractual Compliance is maintained and advising stakeholders if any non-performance is identified and corrective actions implemented as necessary · Attending monthly site meetings on site · Supporting the management and optimisation of budgets and spending on portfolio of Projects · Auditing and agreeing on Project Accounts · Supporting the Senior QuantitySurveyor or Managing QuantitySurveyor with the resolution of Claims as necessary.
· Assisting the Procurement and Supplier Management Team with the implementation of robust commercial processes with their Third Party Suppliers and providing them with commercial support as and when required.
What you should bring to the role:
· Have 5+ years experience in commercially managing a portfolio of projects both pre and post contract · Hold a degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent · Have the desire to work towards gaining Chartered Status · Be confident in negotiation and have some dispute resolution skills · Have an understanding of water regulation (incl.
OFWAT Price Review methodology) · Be excellent at building and maintaining relationships · Have strong communication skills · Hold a full UK Driving license and have your own transport What’s in it for you? The role will provide a diverse range of Quantity Surveying duties in pre and post-contract areas.
You may also have an opportunity to become a Chartered QuantitySurveyor and you will work within a very successful structured APC training programme with the support network of several Chartered QuantitySurveyors, RICS APC assessors and colleagues studying to become MRICS and FRICS.
