In Risk & Compliance, you’ll help clients to protect their brand and enhance their commercial performance by capitalising on every business opportunity while minimising risks and evolving compliance functions.

The role We are seeking Managers to join our UK Risk & Compliance Consulting Team, based in London and on client sites, with expertise in Risk Data, Digitisation and Analytics.  This encompasses risk management, risk data and risk technology expertise across Financial Services.

On a day-to-day basis, you'll deliver complex risk and regulatory transformation client engagements from strategy through to implementation to results.

You will have line management responsibility for junior team members and interact directly with client stakeholders, often owning specific deliverables on assignments.

Your role will also include supporting internal proposition and thought leadership development on industry specific offerings, and supporting the sales process through proposal development.

Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate that they can manage multiple tasks on projects and have the capacity to take on greater responsibilities as they develop within the firm.

They should be of an intellectually curious mindset and interested in continually developing their professional and technical skills.  We would expect you to gain a broad range of experience before deciding whether to specialise in a specific area.

Many projects give you the opportunity to work in multidisciplinary teams or with people from our network firms overseas.

Risk is an ongoing focus area for many of our clients, in particular understanding how best to exploit new data and technologies (such as transitioning to cloud and leveraging new AI/analytics capabilities) and apply emerging leading practices to improve financial performance and gain competitive advantage.  Specifically this will include helping clients improve the effectiveness and efficiency of risk management across the enterprise, through advanced technology and data analytics, enabling process digitisation, capabilities transformation and managing the risks of pivoting to new digital and FinTech ecosystems.  It will also include helping clients to optimise their existing risk infrastructure and operating model, whilst recognising the changes required to reflect the growing importance of non-financial risks (such as cyber, climate and third party risks) as well as evaluating current compliance functions.

Required skills  A logical and quantitative mind-set, with strong technical, problem identification and analytical skills, and the ability to demonstrate experience in at least one of these areas Ambitious and self-motivated with the ability to work on their own initiative, solve problems independently and achieve positive outcomes in a fast paced environment.

Strong communication, presentation, business writing and professional skills, in particular the ability to communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing) with a diverse set of business and technical stakeholders  Experience of building and strengthening trusted relationships with key clients, colleagues and team members.

Excellent people management, client handling and development skills, including interpersonal sensitivity and influencing skills Additional important skills Strong business, technical, analytical thinking and project management skills, including the ability to leverage technology where appropriate and make data-driven decisions.

Demonstrate that you stay abreast of industry and technology developments with a point of view on how the risk, technology and innovation landscape will continue to evolve across the FS industry.

People leadership and talent development skills, including coaching, formal performance management and creating an inclusive working environment.

Required experience Proven experience or good knowledge of a number of risk areas, including financial (Credit Risk, Market Risk, Capital and Liquidity) and/or non-financial (Operational, Business, Conduct) compliance and risk management frameworks, operating models, processes.

Proven experience or good understanding of a broad range of technical areas:

data strategy, data architecture, data integration, data governance, data quality, master data management, reference data, process digitisation and workflow, reporting and advanced analytics.

Knowledge of industry enterprise data management maturity models (e.g.

DAMA DMBOK, DCAM, CMMI-DMM) would be a benefit.

Experience or knowledge of digitisation or innovation strategies for risk management and compliance transformations, such as process automation, adoption of advanced analytics and modelling capabilities, or the shift to cloud computing platforms.

Knowledge or relevant experience of key technology vendors including across the Risk landscape, data management (e.g.

Informatica, Axon), analytics (e.g.

Alteryx, R, SAS), Reporting and visualisation (e.g.

Power BI, Tableau) and Cloud (e.g.

Azure, AWS, GCP, Snowflake).

An understanding of relevant regulation and the associated impacts, including experience of regulatory change programmes (e.g.

BCBS 239, Basel III, GDPR, FRTB, FDSF).

Relevant consulting / advisory experience in Banking and Capital Markets, Asset Management and/or Insurance, with involvement in project management and delivery.

Demonstrable experience in identifying or developing new opportunities with clients, as well as creating new propositions, thought leadership and solutions to key client problems, and launching these to the market.

Experience of change or transformation programmes (ideally from strategy to execution), including working in an Agile environment, within the Risk or compliance function of large FS firms would be a benefit.

Direct experience of working in a relevant role in industry would be a benefit.
