This is a great opportunity with a leading distributed energy and private networks business who finance, own, operate and maintain energy infrastructure for commercial, industrial, public sector, and residential customers - providing them with a market leading project development service and certainty of operational performance and asset management.
The role and responsibilities This role is focused on ensuring company’s growth by originating and closing low carbon energy infrastructure projects of national significance such as:
solar, heat, EV assets and private network adoptions.
The Senior BDM will be a key role employed to drive forwards company’s business relationships and solutions into both the public sector, industrial and commercial and regeneration and development markets.
Hence you will have a good working knowledge of at least one of these markets, the main competitors and the potential partners that operate within it, as well as be connected and networked with prime customers.
The role will report to the Head of MajorProjectsBusinessDevelopment but will work on a day to day bases with Sector Directors and their teams.
Candidates need to be flexible to cover the UK and will be required to develop the depth and breadth of relationships.
You will be responsible for identifying opportunities, managing client and wider stakeholder relationships and closing deals, supporting bid and development teams to secure contracts and partnerships with targeted organisations.
You will need the gravitas to engage at senior levels and the emotional intelligence to prioritise and orchestrate relationships across multiple organisations.
You will have sales input and oversight to the supporting development teams to ensure that propositions/bids are delivered on time and positions taken during negotiation are signed off by the business.
You will be responsible for achieving internal approvals in line with company’s business governance processes.
Essential requirements To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
* Proven track record in the energy sector and operating in the distributed energy market – with evidence of building and closing high value, complex deals.
* Proven experience securing business with solar, private network, heat and/or local energy systems into either the public or private sector markets.
* Highly experienced networker and relationship manager - connected and able to build and manage diverse relationships with a wide group of stakeholders from C-suite and through the organisation.
* Politically aware and can demonstrate influencing a private sector stakeholder group as well as elected members and being an active voice in associated organisations and industry groups.
* Strong commercially and with good working knowledge of principal forms of contract including Heat and Power Purchase Agreements.
