What you'll do This role of CMF Designer:
Group Sky, is fundamentally the creative execution of design work across multiple projects and focuses around three core areas:
Creativity, Craft & Quality Support the Group Industrial Design Director and CMF Creative Director in shaping the day-to-day CMF design development and execution for Sky, ensuring it's in line with wider product and brand strategies and constantly aspiring for excellence.
Demonstrate experience identifying relevant consumer trends and be able to translate insights into compelling CMF strategies.
Show an understanding of product range design, building harmony, consistency and clear purpose across multiple product form factors and functionalities.
Develop a focused portfolio of materials to support material innovation and process expertise, experimenting and learning for better and faster implementation.
Lead and maintain a material library to inspire material-led design innovation within multi-disciplinary teams.
Ensure efficient design delivery and colour-matching approval process, through clear and timely communication with delivery teams.
Own the exploration of materials and processes hand in hand with ID and technical team members, building a high-reaching pre-concepting body of work to help the organisation to make informed decisions about sustainable product and manufacturing investments.
Team Help drive our creative culture by being a highly visible advocate for all things CMF design.
Work closely with all the design team to ensure visibility and provide input into group design critiques.
Champion excellent design, communication, and organisation skills as well as the ability to work across teams.
Relationship & Network building Work with stakeholder groups, suppliers and manufacturers both within and outside the Group Product team.
Advocate the value of sustainability and user focused practices with stakeholders across the business.
Bring good communication and collaboration skills and the ability to work across teams.
Pair optimally with mechanical engineers to help efficiently build designs to the quality and high standards we're aiming for.
What you'll bring 3 - 5 years' experience with a specific focus on hardware product development A Bachelor's degree in textile design, industrial design, product design or similar field.
Consulting agency or in-house experience.
Ability to gather consumer trends and translate insights into CMF strategies which meet consumer, manufacturing, and business needs.
A proactive, self-driven individual that has an equally strong team ethos.
Proficient with the latest rendering and graphics, and pattern tools and applications (Keyshot, Rhino, Solidworks, Adobe Creative Suite or similar).
Intrinsic passion for seamless hardware/software experiences.
A solid portfolio demonstrating breadth and creativity in CMF design, including versatility with prototyping tools and methods.
A solid understanding of design research and creative process is required.
Willing to travel overseas.
