The ShakespeareBirthplaceTrust is looking for a SeniorCommunicationsOfficer to lead on raising the profile and increase awareness of the work and impact of the Trust through a broad, strategic programme of communications and advocacy including, targeted media and communications opportunities.

Supporting the Head of Marketing and Communications, the SeniorCommunicationsOfficer will focus on corporate communications and external affairs.
Concentrating on obtaining coverage on the Trust’s broad programme of activity, including but not limited to learning, museum management and community engagement, as well as its position as the foremost authorities on Shakespeare and his enduring legacy. This role will also support consumer communications (PR) activity, through a line report as well as supporting internal communications activity and being the first point of call for internal and external stakeholders, including the media.
You will work in tandem with the Senior Marketing Officer to ensure all campaigns are holistic in their approach.
The successful applicant will have at least 2 to 3 years’ experience in delivering communications and advocacy activity in similar role, though this does not have to be in the arts and heritage sector.
We are looking for someone who is an advocate for the wider work of the organisation and can raise the Trust’s profile in thought leadership.
Experience of independent working is desirable but a pro-active approach to problem solving, excellent written and interpersonal skills, and a willingness to learn are crucial to the role.
You will be a communications advocate who understands and can utilise the power of communications, both internally and externally, to engage audiences for the benefit of the team and wider organisation.
