Acorn by Synergie is searching for a SustainabilityManager to join our client, a global leader based in Manchester.
Reporting directly to the Group Quality & Compliance Manager, the purpose of the role is to manage the sustainability responsibilities, supporting the business in becoming an industry leader in sustainability.
Someone who can directly influence teams, suppliers and clients in working towards a sustainable future.
Duties of the role include:
* Conducting a full review of all aspects of the business that impact upon the environment then developing and implementing plans to monitor measure and improve performance (e.g.
logistics, suppliers, local utilities, waste) * Setting the sustainability strategy and objectives in order to drive new initiatives across the group * Implement a consistent carbon footprint monitoring program across each site, with measurables, targets which can be reported on monthly and tracked for improvement * Taking the lead on product sustainability and responsible sourcing, working together with other internal teams * Monitoring and reporting on our environmental and regulatory trends and ensure organisational awareness of government legislation and regulatory issues (such as Producer Responsibility, Energy Saving Opportunities Scheme, Streamline Energy and Carbon Reporting) * Tracking and communicating progress, taking the lead on monitoring and reporting the business environmental performance for internal and external stakeholders * Translating technical data into a meaningful format for the wider team * Develop and publish an annual sustainability report, detailing performance against agreed objectives and provide a roadmap for improvement The successful candidate:
* Must have a passion to drive sustainability throughout the business * Must be engaging, as you'll be inspiring employees across the group to engage and participate in environment and community activities and broader Corporate Social Responsibility programme * Must have experience in a similar role The salary on offer is negotiable depending on the level of knowledge and experience to offer.
Hours of work are full-time, Monday to Friday.
