In the UK we are looking to recruit a highly motivated and ambitious specialist to lead offshore ornithology inputs on a wide variety of high-profile offshore projects in the UK, Ireland and provide strategic advice elsewhere (globally).

What you'll be doing The role will be to grow, manage and support our offshore ornithological team, to orchestrate ornithology surveys, impact assessments, mitigation design, EIA/ESIA and HRA's all in accordance with best practice.
The role's technical focus is ornithology services for offshore renewable energy projects mainly in the UK/RoI, so expertise in assessing ornithological impacts of offshore wind farms is particularly important.
You will take on responsibility for the oversight and management of more junior team members' technical work and outputs.
You will also be responsible for bidding for offshore ornithology projects and at times working with other senior staff to help generate new client relationships and work streams.
Who we're looking for A thorough understanding of all ornithological consultancy related matters, including but not limited to EIA/HRA; Habitats Directive; E&S Due Diligence and ESG, with a strong focus on the offshore renewables sector.
EIA experience for major energy infrastructure projects is required, coupled with deep expertise in leading and coordinating ornithological aspects of projects across multidisciplinary teams is essential.
Team Leadership, Recruitment and Technical excellence Ability to identify opportunities and secure new business / clients in collaboration with the wider team / Directors Build and maintain strong working relationships with team, colleagues, clients and external bodies Ornithological Impact Assessment both in the UK and elsewhere Habitats Regulations Assessment and EIA and the DCO process including giving expert evidence Technical Oversight and sign-off of Project Outputs Ecological Mitigation Design and Implementation Strong knowledge of the technical discipline including the current methods, legislation, techniques and guidance which directs the services we provide Ability to manage ornithology project budgets Full driving licence What's in it for you?
