UK Head of BusinessDevelopment will be the UK lead for all things commercial, from tendering and winning new business, through to account management An opportunity to join one of the most exciting contract logistics providers in the UK Client Details My Client have an already established UK network with some amazing customers.
The UK business forms part of a Global network and such you will be play a part in shaping the region.
Description Locate or propose potential business deals by contacting potential customers/partners; discovering and exploring opportunities Ownership of new business enquiries from the initial data collection, financial proposition and leading the response to customers ensuring internal stakeholder involvement (operations, finance, IT and HR) Close new business deals by co-ordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations Develop negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new ventures with company strategies and operations; examining risks and potentials; estimating partners' needs and goals Enhance organisation reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments Planning and attending (as appropriate) relevant industry events and conferences .
Reporting on activities towards targets to the senior team & directors.
Assist Directors in developing and implement sales strategy and forecasts to achieve company objectives.
Analyse and assist in creating a plan for engaging the target market Find ways to innovatively reach more potential customers Organise and attend events and trade exhibitions Update database using a customer relationship management (CRM) system Assist in preparing sales proposal and commercials for prospective customers.
Maintain rapport with key accounts by making periodic visits; exploring specific needs; anticipating new opportunities.
Attending meetings with potential customers Assist preparation of sales activity reports and present to Managing Director Profile Relevant sales experience within the 3PL/Logistics sector Extensive knowledge of 3PL, freight forwarding, transport and supply chain logistics Business studies degree (or equivalent) or relevant experience Commercial awareness and business acumen Experience of budget creation of closed and open book Experience of E-Commerce proposals and operational solutions Self-starter, sales driven, and customer focused Proven track record of profitable sales and growth of revenue from previous employers of large multinational customers Excellent IT skills covering Microsoft suite, social media, website development and bespoke business software (e.g.
CRM) Knowledge of Warehouse management Systems Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Excellent presentation skills, polished and articulate Able to work at a senior level both externally and internally using own drive and initiative Highly organised, able to handle pressure, multi-task and manage multiple projects concurrently Excellent knowledge of marketing with specific focus on social media channels (e.g.
